hi first post, newly registered. anyone haves a 56 plymouth station wagon, that they are restoring, have restored? I have one, debating whether to sell it or restore it. thanks jerry whitfield winston salem, NC
Save it! Save it! Save it! Save it! Like My Protest I'm telling you once you start driving it and listening to people talk about not seeing too many people that Save Wagons.... you'll fall in love all over again... I did!
Sounds to me like you are throwing out a baited hook. I never knew anyone who depended on the consensus of others on how to spend their money.
You are a true friend of the station wagon membership to offer to take that damned old car off his hands. Wished I'd thought of it first. I'm sure a late model Prius or similar make would be more fun. And he would blend in with almost everyone else .
Welcome. Looks like a cool wagon...and you could always do like me keep a long time wagon project so you feel like you can come here and visit!
Welcome aboard, jerrybev. Your car, your decision! I bet you'll find a buyer here if you decide to sell it.
Ditto! Not to many of these around... sweet little cutie just waiting to be loved. good luck with your decision.
Welcome to the nuthouse. What a great wagon. If the underside is as nice as the top, that is one very nice old wagon you have there. My only question is if you are that ambiguous about the old girl, how did you end up with such a hard to find model? One thing is for sure, she is rare enough to justify fixing her back up, if only to good, solid, driver quality. A full on restoration is an expensive proposition. It looks like a 'driver' would be a fairly easy goal, given the state she is in now. Tell us more about the old girl. You know, things like engine size, options and equipment. Have fun with her. Wagons are the original FUN cars for the whole family.
hi thanks for your thoughts. Someone called me and asked if I wanted to buy it because city had given them 30 days to move it and time was running out. A couple years ago I found a low mileage 318" to go in it, and had the bumpers and grill rechromed. I had waited for the great recession of 2008 to end, which it hasn't. Wish there was a member who owned one of these. I appreciate everyones' comments. I think your advice was very good: make it a daily driver, not a high class restoration job. sincerely jerry whitfield winston salem NC
