    Beautiful wagon....
Switch is for the tailgate window, so passengers can let themselves out.

I saw that exact car on ClassicOldsmobile.com, I commented on the neat 1959 Pontiac flipper wheel covers it has on it. I hope it gets the home it deserves.

I think their trim levels for these cars were Dynamic 88 and Super 88 for the higher trim model. Wonder which one this is?

I believe the Super 88 was the lower level, and this is the slightly fancier Dynamic 88. Also, I believe those are the factory Oldsmobile wheel covers. In public school there were several 61 and 62 Dynamic 88 cars in the neighbourhoos, and these are the wheel covers I remember on all of them. One of them was a silver Dynamic 88 Fiesta owned by one of my teachers. He kept it MINT. Factory silver and with a/c and tinted windows. Also an 8 passenger and loaded. It was the first car I saw with power windows. I have long wondered what happened to that car. It was, up into the 80s, his daily driver, summer and winter.

I was doing a little checking on this Mike, reviewing the '61 and '62 Olds brochures. I'm not clear on the trim differences, but it appears that the Super 88 was priced/positioned above the Dynamic 88 - my guess it is mostly due to the engine. At least in '62, the Dynamic 88 came standard with a 280hp 394 cu in. V8, while the Super 88 came standard with a 330hp 394 cu in. V8 (same engine as the 98....)

A buddy of mine from the Hammer knows this car, very nice but needs work as well. Full engine rebuild, tranny and rear end. Unless there are two like it in Hamilton. He checked out the engine rebuild costs with Klotz motors in Cambridge and they told him $8k for in and out. That doesn't include tranny, rear end etc, so he never looked into it anymore.
    Cheers

He could save plenty of money, by simply dropping in a good used Starfire mill hooked up to a THD 400:

Thanks, I will pass tranny info along, he thought about used motor, but felt same problem may arise then he just wasted his money. If the cars driveline didn't need work I think he would have bought it.

I'd write off all of those slushy old Hydramatics, right off the bat. A friend of mine's mom used to drive a 64 olds 88 with one of those trannies. It could never lay a patch, no matter what.
His dad was the head of a major company and would always drive the biggest Pontiacs.

I couldn't wait for the engine to start, so that the noise of the swamp in that filmmakers tennis shoes would get drowned out
