Who wouldn't like to do this in the U.S.? http://jalopnik.com/mini-tow-racing-is-as-loony-as-it-sounds-511947811
I was only going to watch part of this. I couldn't stop looking! Must have been American rednecks on vacation.
Good question. I was amazed at the shape of many tow and toad vehicles. Or towed! Trouble was everyone was sitting on the wrong side. Must have been difficult driving that way!
The second cars are engine-less, but they do have a driver. One of the strategies is to 'block'. Front car takes the inside line, trailing car takes the outside line. Although the winner of that race seemed to have the right idea - just go like hell.....
Always the best plan in stock car racing! Locally two drivers run defense for winner....hopefully! Somehow son is into that. Now with an S-10. He's told stories about demo derbys. We always wondered what he was doing on weekends. He also told about deploying airbags at friend's junkyard. Scary!
That is hilarious...tow racing... The first one seemed so much more civilized. I wonder what the purpose the pumpkins were to play?
I looked at those 'bangers' and wanted almost all of them! Those big Rovers and Austin Westminsters are simply gorgeous. I saw a couple of Rileys in there as well. That blue Triumph that came second is a very rare model as well. I have a strange affinity for those 'large' English saloons.
Wheeee! Wow! That looks like fun! Maybe we should lobby NASCAR to form a Tow-Racing League. Can you imagine an American version run at Daytona or Talladega? Robert
