Not mine, don't know the owner, posting for general interest.

Here's an honest-looking '71 Ford LTD Country Squire for sale in Yelm, WA.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1971...5?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item19dd1c55d3#v4-40

But do I detect a note of marital disharmony in the description?

"MY HUSBAND LOVES THIS STUPID CAR AND HAS TO DRIVE IT EVERYWHERE. MAYBE I DON'T KNOW WHAT COOL IS, BUT I HATE THIS THING."

So you might want to buy at your own risk of coming between a man and his wagon. You might also want to notice that the seller is "msmonster76". Yikes! :49:

Great description, that's for sure. One good thing, because the person who wrote it does not like the car, they certainly outlined ALL the known problems! Whoever gets this one is going to get a good solid driver quality car. I'd love it!

Not many options, but has automatic temperature control, odd. Looks like it might be a pretty decent one!

The husband should keep the Country Squire and get rid of the wife!

Since I only believe a few of the people part of the time I smell an add written by the MALE owner of this wagon. Look at the details. Not that women can't write detailed adds.
Please ladies don't attach me. I've been married more years than most of you have been breathing and am finally learning to figure out women ....well some women...maybe one woman!
But still this wagon does have potential and may be a good buy.

Yeah, I was going to call a little BS on the write up for this wagon, but I used up my month's quota last week! :rofl2:

I describe everything I do on the car to my wife. I explain it all in great detail and show her the pictures I take. I have explained certain processes with diagrams I find online.
She has a degree in microbiology and worked for a Lab that dealt with bacteria. My wife is extremely smart.

Now ask her if it is a 2 barrel or 4 barrel carb? Ask her if it is a V6 or V8? Ask her what tranny I swapped it out for? Shoot ask her what used to be in there.

She may be able to answer one of those questions correctly. The others would be guesses.

Smells kind of foul to me. I mean it is possible that she knows that wagon, but usually when someone hates something as much as described they tend to not pay attention to the details about it.

My guess is that the husband wrote the description of the wagon and gave it to his better half (msmonster76) who then put it up on eBay.

Notice that all of the description is written in upper/lower case sentences, except for the one sentence "MY HUSBAND LOVES THIS STUPID CAR AND HAS TO DRIVE IT EVERYWHERE. MAYBE I DON'T KNOW WHAT COOL IS, BUT I HATE THIS THING."

I think msmonster76 added that line herself! ;)

If I passed, I imagine my wife's description of the Gran Torino would be about the same.

"My husband loves this stupid pile with no resale value whatsoever because it's a 4-door and he insists on driving it all the time. I bid on this thing for him on a hospital bed on eBay minutes before delivering my youngest child, and he's done nothing but lavish care on it without really fixing anything major unless it involves spending ungodly amounts of money to do so. It's kept going, though, and I bet someone else could actually fix it up right and make it nice again, or at least cut it up and restore a coupe."

Why the hell do people REMOVE air conditioning from a car??? This is one of the top bonehead ideas when it comes to "improving" a car. Some folks are just dumbasses.

When the compressor stops, usually the problem, it is often too expensive to replace and get recharged. Therefore many just remove the compressor and the cycle of taking other parts off follows.
Until I got a stupid truck without vent windows I rarely used the AC in anything I had. Even in Florida.
I've considered inventing some sort of "add-a-vents" like the early cars had to keep the wind from messing up my hair and clothes. Like those tiny add on vents and the large Model T type that were out before ventwings. But not many would buy them because they need AC, even in winter.

What gets me is seeing people wearing sweaters and jackets in cars, restaurants, and shopping because they are too cold. My burger froze at Hardee's yesterday!~
A real shocker was last week while wife shopped. 90+ degrees and high school let out. Every kid left the school wearing a sweater, jacket, flannel shirt, etc. and jeans. Not one girl wore shorts or a skirt. I guess it was too cold in the school! Then they got on an AC'd school bus.
When I went to school it was 120 degrees in class and we wore short sleaved shirts. Girls actually looked like girls, wearing mini skirts. That was a bonus! Plus we walked two miles up hill---both ways. Yes, this also happens in summers. :rofl2:
    Was I off topic?

I can MAYBE see removing a compressor, if the owner is too damn cheap to fix it...but to remove all of the underhood A/C lines and such is plain stupidity.

I know that on a Mopar, you don't have that option, unless you happen to have the correct belts and brackets to replace, because the compressor is an intregal part of the routing; usually compressor - alternator - crank pulley, and there is no way to go straight from the crank to the alternator in nearly every application.

It is just boneheaded to remove the A/C, whether the owner uses it or not.
