Panhard pl17 wagon...

I'm still there but nothing more to telle about may Wagon... still waiting for painting Parts, I hope that i'm not going to wait 3 mors years...

The Opel Kadettes used it, as well as the Opel GT which was exported for the North American market and was based on a Kadett chassis. The Corvette's was made out of fiberglass and the Opels used normal spring steel. The Opel GT would hug the road almost like a go-cart. The ride was extremely firm. But not as uncomfortable as one would expect:

 

The Panhard front-suspension is different from the Opel one:
The Panhard has 2 transverse leafsprings, the Opel only has one. Furthermore, the Opel has a separate wheel-carrier, the Panhard has not (the springs are the carriers).

The Panhard is also an older vehicle and built when there wasn't a demand for ordinary cars to perform like sportcars. The suspensions of the Panhard, Opels, Trabants, Fiat Topolinos etc... used transverse leafsprings of which the Opel chose not to use them as control arms. Instead, they adapted old technology with the modern suspension geometry of control arms

I'm here again!

I made a success in brakes bleeding!!:banghead3::banghead3:, the car was at a swiss exhibition 2 weeks ago, not finished but almost! anyway the car moves forward and backward WITH brakes
I have fix the (ugly) taillights, trunk jacks, changed the wheels etc I have to fix the front shock absorber, the rear one and rear seats etc. It smells the end!

I'll send you pictures next week.

Sounds like you are getting there, Jerome! I, for one, cannot wait to see the finished wagon! The work you have been doing has been top notch.

I was dead tired when I started reading this thread but I couldn't stop! Don't know how I missed this??
Well, Jerome, first of all, you seem like a really nice guy and you sure do know your way around metal! I don't impress easily but I am VERY impressed with what you have done with this rare wagon. Absolutely stellar workmanship! And I just love that little Panhard wagon and how it is built. That car is going to turn a lot of heads for sure! I can't say enough about the great work you have done on this wagon. It truly IS better than new. If you lived in the States I would travel just to see the car but, more importantly, to meet the guy that is a real professional car builder that saved this wagon.
Great job, Jerome! And the car is a beauty!

Jerome, you did do a thread about the Dodge, I believe. I know we saw pictures of it. Looked fantastic then, and I can't wait to see more! Don't give up on that wonderful Panhard though.
