Yep, it's an 1988 buick electra estate wagon. It was 3 hours there and three hours back. It's a 2 owner car, has 160,000 k on it AND they have records of every service done on the car since 1988.

    How about that!

She drives nice, seems floatier than my RMW, but tracks good and straight, stops as it should, and the car has been sprayed every year and it shows. The interior is in very good condition as is the body.

The ac doesn't work he said but I don't use ac anyway. The windows go up and down smoothly,as does the rear window. It's just....all good!!!!!!!

I hope the pictures work. If not I will try again in the am

Now that's more like it! Congrats:2_thumbs_up_-_anima

A way better wagon than the one on your street. Hope you having to have it certified will be trouble free:yup:. My 87 is just a Estate, not as fancy interior but it rides very nice. The 307 is not a power house and a lot of guys trash it but if you take care of it you should not have any problems, I've had zero issues with mine.

    **Sale in Progress with Buyer**

Just perfect for the weekend runs to the cottage. One of the nicest 1988 Buick Electra Estate Wagons from a bygone era. Body, mechanical, tires and interior in very nice shape. A few small areas of rust bubbles, but can be easily caught now. Always undercoated. Power everything, and all functional except the air (was working last fall). Drives, shifts and rides beautifully, just like it was designed to. Has the original well running Olds 307 - so the right balance of power and economy. Gets about 19-21mpg highway. Rear facing 3rd seat in back. Two way tailgate with power window. Not many of these left. Selling as is, but should certify easily. Car is in Owen Sound.

Nice wagon. Congratulations. I have always liked the interior in these. The colors go so well together.

Thanks all! Since Friday am until last night when I got home from seeing the car I literally had about 5 hours sleep, as insane as that sounds.

Group ride on Friday...10:am to 5:00....when I got called into work...work from 5:00 pm to 4:am sat morn.......catnapped until 7 am....first aid/ CPR training from 8 am till 4 pm......called back to work from 7 pm till 3 am.....catnapped again from 4:15 till 7 am....back for day 2 of CPR/ first aid until 4 pm....called in at 9 pm...no sleep that time......until 9am Monday morn......then jumped on the bike and had a 7 hour ride to see the car.

Sorry for the long dissertation, but I liked everything I saw in the pics and what the owner told me,especially the part about having ALL service records for day one. I really didn't want that car to slip through my fingers, especially after seeing some of the crap out there and what people ae asking for it.

We came to an agreement on price, I thought his was fair but we haggled down a couple hundred, but in a very polite way because we are canadian...lol. So I got it for 1700. I don't know if he would have taken less but I didn't want to feel like I stole it from him, I want to pay a fair price.

I must admit now that I didn't even look under the hood...gasp!!! I kinda forgot. But,well, hopefully, it's as good under there as the rest of the car..are all you guys out there horrified????....lol

Someone here said tat even if the car needs mechanical work, no biggie, but bodywork is a bitch and that was my first priority,to try and find a solid car, and, bonus, if it needs next to nothing anywhere else.

The elctra was my first choice too, I love how fancy and plush it is. I don't think you can get more grandad with that beige color,it's true,we DO turn into our parents!!!!

    Yayyyyyyyyyy!!!!!:yippee: :yippee:

Looks like a great car for a great price. Congrats and good luck with your Buick. I bought my Colony Park last fall from the original owner last fall with all service records. It's in similar shape with 173k miles. I would recommend only making short trips with it the first few weeks to feel things out. My wagon has not "left me" anywhere but a few small things have popped up that needed attention...most related to rubber hoses that have deteoriated. I'm not much of a mechanic, but am learning fast. It's amazing what you can learn from the folks on this forum, and occassionally a decent quality youtube video. Cheers!!
