I just wanted to say hello to everyone. As U can tell I am a newbie. I heard about this site from another site decated to NOVA'S. I am from Houstn, Tx and I have been a wagon owner now for just over two year's. And I just fell in love with my wagon when I first laid eye's on her. And as U can tell by the pic she is a Drag only car. That is one of the reason's I bought this car. Here I a little info about her:

    1965 NOVA wagon
    Chris alston front clip
    Square tube chassis
    back halfed with laddar bar's
9" ford rear end, 35 spline strange axel's
    full spool, 4.88 gear's
    32x14's Good year slick's
    Morso's front tire's
    Weld Pro strar's rim's
    10point cage, Cert's to 8.50's
    Current motor is/was a 427sbc
    12 1/2 to 1 comp, 110 race fuel
    620-640hp at the crank
PG tranny with a Pro tree tran's brake
    5800 Coan converter
Car weigh's in at #2800's with out the driver
Best ET to date was 10.08 at 130.78 mph
That was at Pink's all out in San Antonio on 3/08
Plan's for the car are, to drop in my new motor. Which will be a 454sbc at 15 to 1 comp and making some where around 850hp NA. And make into the low 9 sec's if not the high 8's. Here is a coulpe pic's of my beast.

    Radio Flyer

    Nice Wagon,

When I built my wagon I was going to call it Radio Flyer but ended up staying with the Warrior. On the Tailgate if I named Radio Flyer I was going to put a small graphic of two kids in a wagon going down a large hill and Put Dreams Die Hard on the back. Me and my brother used to haul our wagon that we modified with lawn mower tires and such to a big hill known to us kids as skid hill. Man we went down that hill in everything we could find with Wheels.'

    Cool ride and plenty fast.

    Happy New Year

Now that you mention it, did yours have the wooden side rails? I was about 8 years old and I got one for Christmas. We lived in a small town of about 6,000. My school had a baseball diamond with bleachers and a big scoreboard. The town only had one policeman, who was also the chief and the dog catcher. We had apple trees in the yard. Somehow, my two kid sisters (age 5 and 7) were mad about some punishment they got and decided to run away. They filled up my wagon with a big blanket, plucked off a bunch of apples and off they went, while the folks were watching the late nite news. Mom went to tuck them in, and the place turned into a zoo! :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

My wagon was gone! I was pi$$ed! The Chief found them sleeping under the scoreboard, and lucky for me, scooped my wagon in the trunk. I'd forgotten all about that until I saw an identical one with the real steel white wheels in an old family-run hardware store, about 4 years ago.

Never occured to me that my interest in wagons started at 8 years old.

I think if I did a real station wagon along that theme, I'd do the wood rails in real ash or maple, and white wheels, with a decal with my sisters' names on it! :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

just remember the ol racing saying....
    ....."Nines cost thousands"....:yup:

and for the non-racers...that means that it'l cost you 'thousands to go into the 9's' !!

its amazing how much it costs to make a car go 1 meezly second faster:slap:

My mom and I were just having a discssion about the 'wagon bug'. She decided it goes back to my toddler days. She says I loved playing in, on, or around our 77 LTD we had at the time. We actually found some old home movies of me, about 3 years old, playing around in that big brown boat.

Oh, yea your right about that. I am in the process of building a 454sbc right now. That will put me deep into the 9's. Let just say 9.0's. And we figured out after all said and done I will have about $14,000 into the new motor. Give or take. Here' s a couple of saying's to help yall justify that kind of price tag. "I have never seen a Herse with luggage rack's" and "U cant take it with ya":thumbs2:

It's the hump we all fear until we get there. You're gonna enjoy it. I still do 'allllmost' 20 years later. My sins are past the statute of limitations...:rofl2::rofl2: 2-ex wives, a couple of bad business partners, onward and upward.
