I knew Santa was up to something when my wife took the van to work. The pipes weren't wrapped and under the tree but the mufflers were. I installed it Friday and was tuning it up today, I have original type hangers I ordered on the way but was able to install it with some old ones I had in the mean time. It went in pretty easy, I actually did something smart for once and used anti-seize on the manifold bolts previously and they came right out. It sounds good with stock type mufflers, just loud enough to hear it. I couldn't test drive it because I pulled the insurance for the winter and it was 60 degrees today. I did have fun going up and down the driveway listening to the mufflers and playing with my newly installed powerful windows and locks, tested them and they go up and down.
Thanks, It is pretty nice, especially compared to my old original miniature single pipe, it revs much better now too. The system is pre-bent heavy aluminized pipe with side exits behind the tires like original. As long as they have the specs on file I guess they can make pre-bent systems for just about anything. They just had to make it for a 350 because you could only get duals with the 455 engine. I didn't know the place was here (about 45 minutes away) until I started looking online and saw them recommended. I was going to get it from there next year but Santa beat me to it. My wife says it took them one day to make and the owner was a real nice guy. http://classicexhaustinc.com/
Great score. Give the wife, I mean Santa a kiss for that one. Can you take a vid and post it to something like Youtube? I would love to hear it.
It was a collaboration between Santa and my wife, I gave her a big kiss and will give her many more, his beard gets in the way. I've been a very good boy this year, not a Ferrari or a 5 foot TV but I didn't ask Santa for those when I sat on his lap at the store. Santa just asked what size engine and if I wanted stainless or aluminized tubing before the elf took our picture. My wife said it was funny because when her and our daughter brought it in the house they're hands turned black. They didn't know about the grease that's all over them from the bender and manufacturing. It was also the reason only the mufflers were wrapped, the pipes were hidden in a bedroom closet. The crossover block-off, clamps and hangers were in my stocking, I could have used it as a medieval weapon. The crossover block-off your wife welded up was a lot nicer Stickman, about the same thing and the weld is good but not anywhere near as pretty. I want to take it in and have the joints welded in the spring. My GTO system is all welded and it's been on the car at least 12 years, surprised the mufflers lasted this long. I can take a video of the Vista running, getting it to you-tube may be rocket science, but I have an Olds Rocket 350 so it shouldn't be too hard.
