1964 Pontiac Bonneville Wagon, California Car! -
    $1295 (Portland, Indiana)

"I bought this car several years ago to rebuild, but this economy is killing me.

This car couldn't be bought and transported back to the Upper Midwest for what I'm asking for this car. The roof racks alone go for $400 in this condition on eBay. Sure, the car looks like crap, but it is a SOLID California car, already here in the Midwest for your immediate restoration, and it's also a factory air conditioned car.

I don't think that I have a title for this car.

    THE PRICE IS FIRM.

Not a bad car, and looks fairly solid. Wonder if he has a front clip. The other thing that gives me pause is "I don't think I have a title". Well, does he or not? If not, does he even own the car? One neat thing besides factory air, though, is the power windows, which were definitely not common in 64. Would be SWEET if it were all done, but the cost of getting it to that state is likely to be quite high. Then again, when last did we see a mint 64 Bonneville wagon on here?

Kinda why I posted it. I have a 'thing' for '64 Pontiacs. Was driving my first car, a '63 Olds Cutlass, when I spotted a '64 Catalina Ventura 2-door hardtop - with power windows. I think I paid $700 for it in 1970.

Regarding the power windows, when you say not common in '64, do you mean on Pontiacs or any car? Just curious, I can't say yes or no to any possibility.

The cut up car in the background is disturbing. No front clip and no drive train. Few pictures of the inside. This one, and one that's been rear ended, and you've got a whole car. Hopefully.

Pretty much any car, except the luxury makes like Cadillac or Lincoln. They were usually available on most anything, except compacts, but few were ordered with all the power equipment. To give you a for instance, while you could order power windows on any Camaro, you couldn't even order power windows on a Mustang until the '71 model year.

    Krash,

Dont get me started on early Pontiac Power Windows, about 20 years ago I owned a 63 Bonneville Convt that was an ex GM Executive car, it had power windows including Power Vent Windows, power vent windows were not availble until the 65 Model year on a Pontiac, well both motors were shot when I bought the car, I tried for a couple of years to find replacements thinking they must have been Buick or Caddie parts, but they wern't. I refused to pay the big $$$ the local automotive electrical shop wanted to rebuild these odd motors, I ended up converting it to manual crank open vent windows out of fustration.
Then I found an obscure service Buliton dated oct 1963 talking about optional 1964 model year power vent windows that just said see 1963 Manual!!!!!

Would have loved to have resoted that car had it still had its original engine, the engine code on the car was XX meaning a Non standard engine, and the car had strange rear 1/4 bracing in the trunk that also looked factory. Unfortunatly it was an original Michigan car with the usual salt induced Lightening holes. I traded it fro a running 67 Tempest Sprint that I drove for several years!!!!

    I've told thus story before....
After purchasing the '64 Ventura, I went to do a tune-up on it (Remember 'tune-ups'?). Bought the points, condenser, plugs ahead of time. Pop off the distributor cap off, and there were no points there - just a flat metal plate with some spring thingys attached! Turns out my car had a transistorized ignition system - another rare option in '64. Here's a page out of the '64 brochure - look under "Heavy Duty Equipment"....
