Yes it is for sale and yes its for sale for $15000. I figure I'd put it out there for that to get serious buyers only. I will obviously take less than $15000 for the car. You guys inspired me to sell it. If it doesn't sell soon it will go under the knife and be what I want it to be. I will feel bad about it till the project is done. Lol

Oh and all the trim is there and straight. Just those three pieces are not currently on the car.

well, that's good... that stuff is so hard to find, and even harder to fabricate correctly... knife it? knife it? like what? lower the roofline? make it hop up and down in front?

Well more the rat rod look. It will have air bags to raise and lower the car. Big cam in the engine and the inside will stay as it is with maybe some new thread back to its former glory. Nice set of staggered 5 star style wheels. Leave the paint as it is and drive her wheels off. ;)

I know! Thats why I am trying to sell it first. If no one buys it then I am going to do what I like. Trust me the wife is the hardest one on me about cutting her up. If I do cut it I will do all I can to leave it reversible. But they are only origanl once. ( I think I stole that from someone on here. LOL)

It's amazing but that is what some of the guys at work tell me about my stuff "It's just old cars." While they ask where the dent or scratch came from on a "old" car. For the last 2 years the company puts on a charity car show...guess who is the only employee to participate?

Back to subject at hand, no matter what route you take with your Desoto good luck, it is truly a amazing find!

Well I will say this if a man had about $12K it would have a new home where it could be whatever they want it to be. If not I think I will keep it. For the price difference I would have a very hard time finding something that is this solid of a base to start with and look as cool as this will when its done.

It's your car, grey....do with it what you want. It appears that no one here is interested in buying it at your price. So, I just don't see any reason for you to keep telling us that you are going to cut it up. We get the picture.
We have had hundreds of demolition derby guys come on here with thousand dollar wagons that they want to sell for four thousand dollars. They tell us...if they can't get four thousand they will probably derby the car. As much as we, as old car lovers, hate to see that happen, common sense seems to win out in the end. Sad as it may be, a car is only worth so much money no matter what its fate.

The car is only worth what another man is willing to pay. The important part of that last post wasn't to tell you that I was going to cut it up but to tell you what it would take to own it. That was the point and to save you from having to read about it I will change the phrase to "make it cool" instead. :D I didn't expect that anyone here would be that interested in the car as it isn't a wagon. Thats why you didn't see a post in the classifieds here. I knew of one person here interested in the car and if I decide that his offer will make me happy then I will contact him directly. As I said before I looked around to find something that would be as cool and as solid as this car is for a starting base and havn't seen one that tickled my fancy that was under my bottom dollar. I already have all the parts to do what I want to with the car with exception to air ride stuff. I am giving it till next monday and I will start making the car cool. (y)
