I would like to see some good looking panels!
Mine is a mess, and i will have to do most of it new. Last time i tried to do something, i cut some aluminum sheets and glued it on top of the old ones, and the time before i had a carbonfibre-look film on.. BUT, i didnt stick with neither, looked cheap, odd or maybe just odd, so this time i will do something different. All ideas are welcome! !!
And for the cluster i have, i thought of getting white, silver or maybe gold as background for the gauges. What do YOU think?
I have yellow bulbs right now to make the stock gauges look a little more pleasant, but i figure i should change the bulbs anyway.. Otherwise it propably will take a couple of days til a bulb or two will quit work...

This is the way my gauges look right now.

lowlow, if you ever get the hankering to go back to the original dash and gauges, I have a good spare '72 Buick set up I will be happy to send you.

    Oh..... I am stunned David..
I guess that the situation on untampered parts are a little better at your place, but it still is a stunning offer..

Sad to say though, i really dont care much for the fake wood on these parts, and i need the speedometer setup to get the lockup function on the th700 gearbox, and had the fuel gauge and sender to match, so.. Everything can be done, i know, but as i dont really like the original cluster from the start it seems like a lot of work, just to make it look stock..

To my eye, the whit looks too modern. For a more 'true' Buick look, I would be tmpd to go with the brushed stainless look for the gauge faces, th way Buick did in the late 70s.

I don't like those white ones at ALL!
Frankly, I like the set you took out about 100 times better. :2cents:

Crap, I just noticed..... the old set is just KMPH and not MPH combined, the way I understand things, this wagon was built for export.....no MPH.

I change my comment, keep the old gauges......... :taz:

As you mention it, did not the Rivieras had some kind of aluminum or stainless "rosepolished" panels in the boattail? That would be a killer!

-Haha David.. I seriously doubt that i will ever go wood, on the out, nor inside on a car that i own.. But never say never..:drink: When the beer gets in, sense will go out:dancing:

Thanks so far guys! And i would love to have the MPH scale, the odometer counts miles, so why shouldnt i go miles? As a little info for you who havent seen the car from the start: The cluster is from a -90 something G20 van, and i used it to get the speed control, and the right gauges to go with the Tbi/th 700 combo....

This is the current status on the panel.... I have done a test on a panel for the airride controls, gauges that shows a bit down on the right[IMG].

There are no nerds when it comes to car accessories. That knob would make you a diddybopper.
