Hey...there is a lady member here that was restoring one just like this one! She was doing a great job of hand painting the wood effect just like this one. Doggone it...I wish i could remember her name. She was showing us her progress and then, suddenly, we haven't seen her for awhile. I wonder if she finished her car and this is it. Sure looks like the one she has. Kind of doubt it....she got the car from her grandma or mother and really loved the car. I doubt she would sell it. Sure wish I could remember her name. EDIT: Well I searched all through Chevy in the Gallery and she apparently didn't put her car in there. Guess I'll never find her if she doesn't show up again for some reason. She's a nice lady and knows the history of the car and doing a bang up job all by herself. I don't know how else to find her name. I suppose her car could be a 54 but I think it's a 53 and looks like the one for sale here.
Thanks Silverfox. I missed an original, probably 49 or 50 Chevy woody that sat many years on the way to an old relatives farm. This one is just beautiful. I remember finding a nice chrome valve cover like that in the woods and saving it for many years until we moved to Florida. Have no idea what I did with it. I saved almost everything till moving. Maybe the lady with the other wagon will see this one and post.
I hope so. She's a nice lady, dedicated and doing a super job painting the woodgrain on that nice wagon.
Thanks, Wixy!!! Much appreciated!! SO glad you found the car and chevygal. Looks like it is NOT the same one for sale; for which I am happy.
Chevy Gal at work on a beautiful 53! Did a great job hand painting the grain. Sure wish I could see how this car turned out!
Sorry to hijack your thread, W88, but, I love Chevy Gal's wagon and am DYING to see how it turned out. I PM'd her just now as well as emailed her. I sure hope she comes back and shows us that car and how it turned out. And now....back to our regularly scheduled thread!
....back to our regularly scheduled thread! So, when did we last have a regularly scheduled thread? Or one that stayed on topic? I love both of those 53 Chevy wagons. Hand painting the wood grain is the way to go!:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
