I always liked my 1980 Malibu 2-door basic el cheapo V-6 and 3-speed I bought to pull behind our motorhome. Nice body style and decent ride. This looks good for a northern Illinois vehicle.
We've seen this one before, and recently. Notice the incorrect year front fenders with the second side marker lights in them. This one has had some serious work done.
This is because you can get the 81 grille new. They are reproducing that year since it's the grille used in Mexico for several years. They made a LOT of these G-body Malibus down in Mexico, they are very popular, and they make all the bits still, lights, trim, bumpers, all that can be had easily. While I like the 82-83 front end, the ability to get NEW pieces and switch to the 80-81 front clip is too tempting.
