http://austin.craigslist.org/cto/3620741886.html - I think it could be had for a lot less than the asking price. Would make cool Blues Brothers-themed project! It's right down from my house.

Hey it's orange..I could paint UT Longhorns on the doors and hood and park if down near campus with a For Sale sign. Sell it to a college kid as a great tailgating toy. :rofl2:

Oh how my wife would beat me if this showed up in my driveway...ahahaha.

Oh and I'm sure you northern folks will be terrified buy the horrible surface rust on the one door. Hahaha. In Texas ANY rust scares us!

New ad states it lots drives. If it lot drives, I would drive it home. I drive completely nonroadworthy cars home hundreds of miles. Can I tell a story? No? Too bad. One of my first eBay purchases outside of a ton of old Macs in 98-99 was a Dodge Shadow for $100. '88 model, ran and drove, my girlfriend and I went from Columbus OH to Rochester NY to get it. Within five minutes of getting on the highway, the hood flew open, but stayed attached to the hinges. Didn't break the windshield thanks to spring loaded hinges. I had to remove the hood to continue, and the NYS Trooper who pulled over to check on me said leave it in the grass, because the trash pickup crews were only a couple miles away working towards me.

Can I tell another story? Plug your ears all you want, here it comes. In 2002 I bought another eBay car. '87 Celebrity sedan, my winning bid was $132.50 Once I got to Evansville IN I found the AC worked and it ran well but the battery was shot. The dealer jump started it for me and I drove down the road to AutoZone, left it running, they wanted $70 for a new one, so I drove down the road to a junkyard and exchanged the battery for $20 (with engine still running) instead. Then I popped a brake hose or something. I drove it all the way back to Dallas with no brakes, using the parking brake to slow it down as needed for toll plazas, fuel fillups, food, drinks, stopping on the side of the road to take a nap, et cetera. That car held all my personal things in the trunk for a year while I was homeless and drove taxicabs. It never failed to start for me when I needed to move it around or take a weekend off. Never fixed the brakes, I just kept using the parking brake whenever I needed to drive. I bought an '89 Celebrity sedan later in 2003 and swapped over a ton of parts and let the city tow the '87 away since the junkyards I called wouldn't take it with the signed off Indiana title and dealer buyer's order signed off to me. I got my use out of the car for the money for sure.

Hey Ted.. I am looking at cars that are about the same condition that are about the same price. I just want the body to be in good condition.. I dont care about the engine or drive train or any of that. I just need a solid metal body and the glass to be good.
