Ken, What an awesome line up of cars you have there. I can't see you ever being bored. You must have also have a tolerant wife, that's all I can say. Jack
Good to have you back, Ken.... I see some other changes in your vehicle line-up as well - no more MG's, and you switched Corvairs. Back in 1970 or so, I had a yellow '66 Corsa hardtop with the turbo. Didn't have the Crown conversion, but saw some.... Interesting California plate on your '65 Sportwagon. Not your usual garden-variety passenger plate, which would have been 3 letters then 3 numbers. It looks like some sort of commercial issue license.
My 65 Special wagon says hi to your 65 SportsWagon Hi Ken! I don't know how I missed your initial posting, but I did. Definitely glad to have another "mature" Buick wagon on this board! :2_thumbs_up_-_anima I'm in the process of upgrading my wagon with some "luxuries" that your wagon already has like - air conditioning! Cheers, Edouard P.S. My wagon not only was built in California, but has lived here essentially all her life!
I didnt do anything to my PRNDL but i did shorten the throw on the rod so it moved just like a modern car does if not the throw on the lever is too long i can feel the detents in the trans for the gears it works very good and looks stock as well Ken
I let her lease a new car every 3 years that keeps her quiet notice i never said happy hahahaha she would love if i sold them all but that aint going to happen and she has invested over 31 years in our marrage so i think she finally gave up on me hahaha
thanks and yes i sold all 3 of my MGB's the Crown V8 Corvair is something i have been trying to build or buy for 40 yrs and it took 6 yrs to convince the former owner to sell his to me and i LOVE it. put 4,000 miles on her in just 4 months along with driving all my other cars hahaha I still look for toys every day but i admit i am looking for less projests and more drivers i can correct the errors of the privious builders The Cailifinia plate is a "dealer plate" very rare indeed i am lucky to have the pair of them Ken
Mine was built in Freemont and was in San Jose til 2008 I even found the Original Cali Black plate number for it ( called the DMV took 5 minutes ) The care was donated for the emission credit in the 70's or 80's and has a salvage cali title but there is NOTHING wrong with her
Thanks guys I also have a 65 Pontiac Laurientian wagon ( Canadian Model ) 9 passenger with Factory fender skirts It was sold to AVIS Rental Car April 27 1965 by Calgary Motors of Calgary the warranty book was still in the glove box :2_thumbs_up_-_anima and except for the engine trans and front and rear seat covers it all original mind you its getting some well deserved upgrades this year or maybe next year I gave it to my son for a graduation present for finishing his Automotive Partsman Ticket at SAIT in Alberta His career is on the right path im very proud of him
Welcome to the nut house. That Laurentian is beautiful, not to mention very rare! Those fender skirts really look good on that wagon. Not sure I've ever seen the skirts on a wagon. Hope you have lots of fun around here.
to a great community of people with amazing taste, may i suggest the stationwagon forums tshirt for your next car show, you will see the thread.
