wow.....looks great Mike! That car looks better than new with each step you take. BTW...........do you get a FLEET rate at your body shop?
Yeah - you're not going to ever have a composite plastic panel that 'feels' the same as a metal panel when painted. If it did, it would have too much hardener in it and end up cracking. Love the contrasting graphite color on the lower third on these - I think I like this treatment more than having 'wood'.
That wagon is looking GREAT!! I still like the whitewalls on these cars. Then again, I love the cars from the 602 and 70s, and taxi cabs and poverty specials were about the only cars with blackwalls then.
Funny you mentioned this. I'm taking the Dodge Ram over there on Monday at noon. Finally fixing the rear 1/4 where some a-hole hit it in the Wal-Mart parking lot last summer, and then ran off without leaving a note. I'd just given my Dad this truck and this happened less than a week after. It's bothered me every time I've gone over to my folks house! Dad gave me a ride in the Dodge to pick up the Olds wagon at noon today, and I asked Mike the body guy for an estimate to fix the dent. He said he'd give me a "frequent flyer" discount and quoted a really low price, so it's going in the shop Monday. Never a dull moment! -Mike
The Custom Cruiser is safe in my garage right now. Misty made fun of me just a bit ago. When I got home from work she heard me pull in but I didn't come in the house. She found me sitting on a folding chair in the driveway looking at the Cruiser glowing in the garage... Called me a dork... I can't help it! I've wanted to fix this since the day I bought the car. Little victories! -Mike
