:eek3: Why, why, why???? If there truly was justice in this world the assclown who was responsible for this hideous monstrosity would be publicly flogged and spat, spit, defecated on and be made to be the official poster child for birth control.

He should have used a 4 door and made a Ranchero instead of a wagon :slap:

dear lord tell me this isnt real,
i thought a buick roadmaster pickup would be cool (not on my gold wagon)
but i want it to look factory .. that is the skill. were talking shave the back doors and smooth them out, cut the roof at the front of the dome and create a bulkhead and flying butresses ala el camino and paint it a nice color and put a set of stock size or maybe 1 or 2 at best size bigger wheels. this is dreck! :vomito:x2

I know you mean he should have used a 2-door LTD to make a Ranchero.
Using the 2-door body (might be a bit difficult to find) Would make a great looking pick-up.

that would be an awful short pickup. a wagon would be the only logical choice but, take it down to the front doors, and keep it classy

Most car-to-pickup conversions fail miserably because of proportioning problems. Using the 4 door front doors may be practical, but it looks wrong because they are too short, and the top of the door frame extends rearward instead of going straight up or tipping slightly forward - making for an awkward triangular B pillar. Rancheros and El Caminos always used 2 door-length doors, usually with a unique window frame shape and glass.

An even better, but much more labor intensive way to do this car would be to use the longer 2dr doors from a coupe on a wagon body, patching in the front sections of the 1/4 panels and essentially making a factory appearing 2dr wagon first. Then it could be converted to a Ranchero using the inside of a bed from a compact pickup. It would still be lots of fabrication work to make the B pillars look right, and trimming the bed in stainless would finish it off factory style as well.

The wagon makes a good starting point because the tail gate and taillights are already figured out, (I'd convert the two way tail gate to be a flip-down only) and because it also has a longer rear overhang, which gives a larger pickup bed and bring it all into proportion. I would also tuck the lower rear 1/4 panels inward, matching the inward curve of the doors and front fenders. Ford pulled them out to stow the spare tire there, but it wouldn't be necessary on a Ranchero conversion and would look sleeker.

    Uhhhh..............hmmmmm.....................well.....

    Yep, you're right...words fail here.

2 days left of a 10-day auction with ZERO bids...now that speaks volumes.
