If this works out like 2low says....we will have to travel to Sweden to pin a medal on him!(y) There has been many, many searches for an answer to this problem.

Did the picture show up for anyone else? On my screen the post has a large blank spot.

Thanks for the link. I'm not sure why it's not working for me.

Does anyone know where to find this part for a Van. Looking online I seemed to be able to find every weatherstrip molding except that one. Maybe I was looking up the wrong words.

    Cool. Thank you a lot.

Does it prevent leaking on yours?

    This is really great information.

How did you mount the rubber to the metal? The one on my car is screwed in from the inside. I haven't really paid much attention to this part of the car so I'm not sure if they are all this way.

I think i had to take it all from the inside.. The pillarcovers and inside rubber mouldings and all.. Drilled new holes in the new rubber, using the old as template, went to a boatsupplier and bought new stainless screws SHORT ones!! Even with the shortest one i could find, i made a dent in the chrome on the outside of the pillar.. Test it before you mount!!

OK, thanks for the advice. I have my car completely torn apart right now for paint so I'll keep that in mind as I'm reattaching the trim pieces.

brandon you "might" want to look into a real nice used piece. I say this because it will be pre-formed or "squished" from the hood/door or whatever. So it would be more uniformed and pre-flattened to fit better?

i am thinking a new piece may be too rounded to look and function like we would be looking for,and most boneyards would probably GIVE it to ya!

I'll check into that. Low, what do you think about a used piece verses a new piece?

I´ll think i agree.. A used piece has the right shape.. On the other hand, mine is kind of "grey" And i have to clean it with silicone dresser to make it black every once in a while.. But i wont change it for a new one, i am kind of happy that it works, and after all, i like to buff my car:dancing:
