I'd like to get to my power window motors, but I don't want to trash my door panels. How do I take off my door panels on my 1969 Merc Wagon?

Don't want to say that my 67 Ford is the same, so I am hesitant to give you specific advice.

Best to get a shop manual (ebay). They are quite helpful.

However, it usually entails removing door handle, window handle(s), arm rest (usually screws in underneith), any additional screws you can see, and then push in "clips" (not sure of proper name, but they pop into holes in the door). I would highly recommend getting (borrowing) door panel removal tools. You can use screwdrivers to pop the clips, but you run a much greater risk of damaging the panels.

WW was pretty much correct. There are plastic parts that look like cartoon tacks with ridges on the shaft that slip into teardrop shaped holes on the inside of the door panels. To remove the panels, use a flat tool made of sheet metal (only about $4.00) to pry the panel off after the hardware is removed. The other end of this tool will slip behind window/door handles and easily remove the spring clip that holds them to the shaft.

Unless the older Fords are vastly different from the newer ones, If you want to remove the motors, you'll need to drill three 1/2" holes to get a socket onto the motor mounting bolts. Ford was kind enough to mark the spots with dimples.
If you can hear the motor run, but the window won't move, the fix is only pocket change away, once the motor is out of the door.....
