Really enjoy looking at the great pics and reading the posts. My dad had a 1960 Ford Country Sedan (9 passenger) black w/red interior. I had a 1987 Ford Taurus LX Wagon (7passenger) white with silver cladding and tan interior. I really have fond memories of that car. Currently drive a SUV and 2007 Honda Element EX (classified as a wagon by many states and Consumer Reports Magazine). Looking hard at a Subaru Outback for my next purchase as the current generation has plenty of passenger room. Wagons are great vehicles, so practical!
Welcome to the madness Teneo! What?? June 2009 join date?? You may hold the record for this forum's "longest lurker" award? Krash, you keep track of that don't you??
I do not see it as being a "lurker" as much as a non-contributing aficionado. Only because I did not believe I had much to contribute. Lurker sounds so sinister. So thanks for the welcome, this is a great forum!!
to the wagon train, ten. OK....you may be the record holder of the longest non-contributing non-posting observing with interest wagon forum member aficionado on record. And now that you are here you have already contributed by telling us a little history on 2 wagons. Just jump in with your ideas and desires. This is a family-like forum and we like all kinds of info.
Hey, Teneo, just glad you are part of the forums, and there is never any obligation to get involved in the threads, but we always enjoy and appreciate everyones input. And pictures of their wagons There are several forums I've joined to obtain information I needed but like yourself, as to the day to day reading and replying, I'm already in overload mode with all my projects and keeping up with this lively crowd of fun filled wagon owners.
Welcome aboard. Do you have any old family photos of the 60 ford wagon? My dad had a green 60 Country Sedan wagon with green interior when I was born. There was a yellow one(later painted dark brown) that I used to see in Leesburg, Virginia up until about 5 years ago. I've been wondering what became of that 60 Country Sedan as I never did get a chance to talk to the owner.
Teneo re-to the forum. Sometimes we have nothing to say but learn a lot by reading and looking at photos. Happy to finally know you are here in the shadows observing, lurking, stalking, being a voyeur, or simply studying the possibilities of what you may want to say or do next. There are also others just the opposite, commenting and adding pictures to keep the members awake and active, or just here to agitate and keep us on our toes. Each is needed and welcomed.
I also spent a considerable amount of time riding around in my friend's rebuilt 1950 Wiillys wagon. It was a very basic automobile.
My brother in law had one, he painted it lime green, put a '64 vette FI engine complete in it, and it was bloody scary. Basic is right, very military'ish of the day. Fun as heck though when you are 20 and going fast seemed like everything. Who even thought about stopping the bloody thing until you suddenly had to.
greetings Im from FLA AND MOVED up here. Just bought a 1966 Ford (9) passenger wagon Hello, anyone still lives up near here ??
Welcome aboard! I've been looking at the Subaru wagon also - I think I'm going to wait a year but it's at the top of my list.
Welcome aboard from another northern Virginia member. You might want to start your own intro thread as this one was originally someone else's intro and your intro could get lost in the thread. Once spring comes around, the cruise ins will start up again. I know there is a Saturday evening cruise in thats in the Stafford area, but the largest one in the area, and the one I attend, is in Manassas, Virginia on Saturday afternoons. There are at least a couple members here who live in the northern Virginia area besides you and I. There's Joe, in Lovettsville, Virginia who occasionally brings his 62 Olds F-85 wagon to the Friday evening cruise in thats in Sterling, Virginia. Theres a couple members in Front Royal, one with a 70 Ford Country Sedan, and one with a Buick Roadmaster. Another member in northern Virginia has a 66 Mercury Colony Park. Onther than Joe, I have not met any of these other members. As for the wagons that attend the local cruise in at Manassas, theres a 65 Fairlane, a 66 Chevelle, a couple 62 Pontiac Catalinas, a 64 Impala wagon, a 77 Country Sedan, a couple 55 & 56 Nomads, and a few GM wagons from the 80's and 90's. I'm really looking forward to seeing your 66 Country Squire.
