Since moving here we've gone every year since 1994 except last year and sadly we will miss this year. We always went Wed and stayed thru Sunday. There's a lot to see and do all over town. Bel Aire Plaza is always a fun small show within the show. Plus the nightly activity which is now in front of the Speedway area.
WHAT IS TURKEY ROD RUN ? What part of Florida are you in? I knew about Turkey Rod Run when living in Illinois. It is the largest street rod and antique car show in Florida held at the Daytona Speedway over Thanksgiving weekend. Several thousand vendors and an average of 5000+ cars of all types. Plus a car for sale corral and many other things. People cruise Daytona and most motels have mini car shows of their own. We are not going because old age finally caught up and there is a lot of walking. If not preregistered you can register at the gate. But go early to get a good spot and ahead of the traffic.
I'll try to check it out. There's probably a few wagons, right. I'm not too far from Daytona - i'm about 15 miles south of Melbourne I saw an unbelievable country squire (looked to be around a 1965) at the Orlando airport today. It was perfect. He even had some vintage coolers and other stuff in the cargo area. Looked like I just stepped back in time. Someday, I'd like to get a real vintage wagon.
The fun thing about Turkey Run is the assortment of vehicles. Everything from brass era cars to Kool Kustoms, antiques, and street rods. You'll see a Nash Metropolitan maybe beside a 1959 Caddy and everything else. Since we have a wagon and a panel truck, those are two things I look for. Always quite a few wagons, panels. and sedan deliveries to drool over. Try to at least make one good day of it. Usually Friday and Saturday are the busiest. There are vendors for NOS, slightly and very used old parts, even late model one of a kind parts vendors. Plenty of street rod parts vendors and rechromed bumpers, grilles, etc. Everything from stop signs to stop lights.
