I haven't seen one in about 30 years. And almost that long since I have seen one of those Pioneer Car stereos. Pretty nice little head units but non standard connections and signal levels.

Haha! First time I've seen someone trying to sell a car "up on blocks."

More than likely the suspension leaks (most did after 5 or so years) either up on blocks or slammed to the ground with the engine off. I always liked them, but from a distance!!!!!!!

Citroens are probably the best road car you are ever likely to drive. They're used as taxis in Iceland, France, and most of the Middle East that was once French colonial territory. My first ride in one was in Iceland in the mid-'80s. What a beautiful ride it was! Much better than any Mercedes or Crown Vic cab I've ever ridden in! I also drove a CX Pallas in Germany once. At autobahn speeds, the car handled beautifully due to the hydropneumatic suspension. A bump you would feel in any other car was invisible to the Citroen.

Granted, there are but a few shops in the US and Canada that can do proper work on these, but if you are looking for a car that will simply put others on the trailer in terms of driving comfort, a Citroen is tough to beat. Find one that is ready and sorted out, and you are golden. These are NOT for the guy "restoring" his first car, by any means. Although the hydraulics are relatively simple, they MUST be right to work right.

If I had the cash, I'd be on both of these cars.

The hydraulic suspension on these cars always intrigued me, was it controllable or adjustable from the inside?

It can be controlled manually while driving, but letting the system work as designed is the way to go.

Did you know that the car is so balanced, with properly-working hydraulics, that you can drive the car on just three wheels? You can take ANY wheel off the car, and the car will compensate for that, allowing three-wheel driving. Absolutely true.

Try that with anything else. It doesn't work.

If you get a flat, jacking them up is even easier! Raise the suspension, put an axle stand under it, and then lower the suspension. Problem solved.

I love these cars! An architect at the FLW Taliasen, Herb Fritz, had one and I would go over there and look at it and he would run me around in it....years ago. I think they are technologically cool! I would love to have one but, Ina, the woman member here from Holland told me that if the weather man says rain...these cars rust just hearing about it.:) Still....I have always wanted one and, what Pat says is true, they ride and handle like a dream. I have looked for one but the other problem I have is that...if they are decent...they are usually expensive. Even when needing work.
