True, cammerjeff... But there are already two unfinished projects in the garage and no room for another!
not a fan of "J bodies" at all. not even really a fan of "A bodies". but i know the car, and the lady. although this does seem like an amazing deal!
i know what you mean about the J-body cars, I worked on to many of my freinds. coworkers and relatives J-bodies in the 80's and 90's and never whant to touch anouther one. Ond the 78-86 A-bodies just don't work well for us with greyhounds, and no rear or back windows that roll down to give them air. That is why we finally settled on the 78 B-body, and some day the 73 A-body that we have. Does look like a great deal for the right person though.
Fancy door panels, nicer seats, tiny 13-inch Olds FWD Super Stock II wheels, and even a power antenna. My best friend got a brand new '91 Cavalier RS sedan as a high school graduation gift. It bet folks of a certain age will remember these...they were EVERYWHERE in his colors. It was that solid white, with painted white steel "mag" wheels, and had blue Cavalier RS emblems, blue mid-body stripes, and a blue interior. He was SO proud of it. I was griped at for leaning on the door when it was a week old. He went out that first week and had a really good Alpine CD stereo and speakers installed in it, along with a Viper alarm (VIPER ARMED!! STEP BACK! Hahahaha!) and even installed raised-white-letter Radial T/A tires. It got him through college in Williamsport PA, and to his first few years in the workforce back in NJ. My main memories of it were how LOUD that 2.2 4cyl was...it had an automatic...and it was SLOW....and when you tried to pass on the highway all it did was make more noise when you pressed the gas...no more real speed was created, and it reliably blew the head gasket every 50K miles. He did it twice. At 150K when it blew the 3rd time, the doors were rusty (PA and NJ winters) and the firewall had rusted through under the cowl vents, so whenever it rained the carpet got soaked under the dash and interior fogged up. He parked it at his parents house in 2001 and his Dad finally had it hauled it off for scrap a few years back. J-car fun. -Mike
Not too long ago, I seen on of these with the woodgrain option. Really cant be many of those left. This is not it, but one like it... (this one also has color keyed wheels) Here is an '85 Firenza Cruiser...
