depends on what your budget and desire is. i have a full air ride on my wagon and can raise or lower it at will and compensate for any load i put in the car. while your air ride is self leveling you have no real control. you mightt wanna check out gmlongroofs.com as that site is more about later models and the air ride systems in them

You can use individual fill air shocks, if you need extra every now and then, or load levelers, with an extra spring wrapped around them, for heavy duty use.
I personally like to keep the back end up a little, to watch for approaching 'gumballs'.
Believe it or not, inexpensive polyurethane sway bar bushings and links. [Auto Zone]
    will make quite a difference!
Put 'em on a Suburban, and my 12 yr. old asked me what I did - it didn't lean!!

    shocks

Thanks so much....today I actually got it up on a lift and looked at the factory set up...after much deliberation,,,,I've decided to use a pair of sensa-trac coil overs....it'll set it up much higher in the back than it has been.... and be much less hassle in the long run..... I just love my wagon!!!!!!

And duals will wake it up, provided you do the split from the manifolds. and use dual cats!
Split after the cat won't do much.
Don't forget the bushings - it'll be a different car!
