I was in Dell technical enterprise training from 8am-4pm today, and have got day two of this tomorrow. Well after looking at charts and Powerpoint presentations all day, I NEEDED to blow off some steam. Walked out of the office, jumped in the Cruiser, and headed to South Austin. Got to Wrench-A-Part at 4:45....they close at 5:30. I RAN through the yard, got ya'll some new pics, and me a couple neat finds. Since you guys seem to like yard pics...here we go! NICE roof-rack...painted the wood body color too. Classy! G-body Monte Picked-over G-body Cutlass And a Regal too. Lots of G's today! No dash cracks! Sad Impala SS 70's Nova This Roady wagon had a SUPER NICE grill. Texas chrome, no spots, very few road chips, I NABBED IT. Also got the TRW box for the keyless entry. Hope it works! Another 70's Nova...coupe this time, big duals...and a hitch 91 Caprice with leather seats Funky-paint Caprice
Not just a slope-back Seville, but with a fake ragtop too! Ewww 96 Caprice Cutlass with some FUNKY body mods. Check out the side windows This old Riv was rough but COOL! It's a Gran Sport with a 425 under the hood. Check out the cool shifter and console!! 6000STE Eldorado Northstar...real shame these were not made better. I still think they're sharp T-top Formula Firebird Cutlass Convertible
Black LT1 Z28 Walked through some non-GM stuff on the way out. Groovy Man A Maverick for Doc..parts for the Grabber! Range Rover...ha One of the few Fords I respect. Yamaha-Ford SHO's were BAAAAD..window sticker in the glove box
BIG Chryslers! PT Looser Pardon me, but do you have any Grey Poupon? I found where all the parts from the teal Cutlass convertible above ended up. This was in the parking lot Fun, if fast time at the yard. Nice way to blow off some steam from being in class all day! Looking forward to trying out the TRW box. Hope you liked the pics! -Mike
I take it the tail lights were gone on the Cutlass out in the yard? I'd love that red Chrysler interior for some seats out in the garage or something.
Great Mike! Thanks! The Riv has a 430 in it probably, from the series that replaced the nailheads. The 425 was the last and biggest of the nailheads and production stopped with 67 model year I think?
All I can hear is "Somebody Save Me!" I haven't seen one of these 78 New Yorkers in such nice shape around here in over 10 years! Me wants!
I'm still liking the shifter and console in that '68 Riviera. Seems a real shame to have that crushed. I gotta think that somewhere there is a Riv guy with a column-shift car that would kill for that console setup. That Riv also has the "Strato" bucket seats, same as used in all the mid-size GM musclecars from 68-72, plus the steering column without the shift lever. I need to find a Buick forum and post that car, before it goes to waste. -Mike
