I've always just gone to NAPA and either bought wire by the foot or by whatever sized roll I need. Like everything eles, it's not cheap anymore. As for rewiring an entire vehicle we buy E Z WIRE KITS. They can be found at many swap meets and ordered through most popular car magazines. Office was in Bunnell , Florida last time we ordered. A universal kit with everything to wire a car is under $200, including fuse block, flasher, etc. Wire circuits are marked every few inches.

I'm going to try an EZ Wire kit when rewire my '66 Chevy pickup next year. Funny you mention NAPA, I actually work for NAPA. Unfortunately SXL wire is only available in 100 ft spools through our supplier. I'm just wiring some relays right now so I don't need much. By the way I found it here http://motorsportswiring.com/wire-cable-sxl-primary-wire-c-4_13.html in quantities as small as 25 feet.

    Thanks
