Too cool! But too bad the USA no longer has a real manned space program. I thought for sure they would go to the moon again just so women and minorities would have a chance to walk on it.
Grate pics Mike, thanks! I got to see the shuttle in person a long time ago at a stop over in Atlanta. I was working at the North Cargo terminal while in college and it made a stop there for refueling I suppose. Did not have a camera with me at the time, it was a sight to see though.
neat pics i'll have to show my daughter. we are going to kennedy space center next month for a car show and to see the shuttle
Cool pics! One of these landed at Hill AFB here about 12 years ago, I took my daughter to see it she was facinated at how it was transported.
I got to see it also the other day and called my wife all excited. The dealership where I work is a couple miles away from the Michoud Assembly Plant so it was at 1500ft. when it passed over. I was amazed it was a 1st for me seeing the shuttle!
I watched it from the rooftop of my work as it flew over San Francisco. , zoomed over 2 times, between the towers of the Golden Gate Bridge, between the Transamerica Pyrimid and Bank of America building , south over Candlestick Park and across to Oakland.
So they been joyriding all across the USA with this shuttle piggyback on a 747? Seems a little dangerous?
I didn't see why all the hype ... it was boring to me. I guess its history, even history can be boring.
