Thanks guys. Yeah, he had a pretty good life, my wife treated him especially well which was great as he responded in kind. We are missing him a lot just now but it will mellow to fond remembrances. I think personally what I'm missing most are the early morning taps on my face as furface was looking anxiously for his first of the day goodies that I had not yet gotten up to provide. He'd sneak in, tap my face and sit and purr and watch me for any signs of life. As soon as I did a thing he'd prance around like it was the first time he'd had attention in weeks. He did that for most of his life. Oh well - going to this event really helped us get through this. So many outstanding people there, it was fun having "wagon chats", they have a "wagon-off" each year where all the wagons are lined up and measured/compared and that is always a lot of fun. This year the wagon group then toured downtown Lynden which is not very large and then through the campground before heading back to their trailers. Station wagons are recognized as the tow vehicle of choice when the vintage trailers were new and are highly prized, and get a lot of attention. Kind of neat.
Welcome back Saf. sounds like you had a pleasant weekend, concisdering. Looking forward to your pics.
Sorry to hear about losing your pet - I've been there, it's hard. There's another one out there that needs you!
Sorry to hear about your 4-legged monkey-wrench buddy, Safari. When I was in my early teens, my g/f had a cat from Africa - short-haired and not one of those slinking models. Walked and ran like a puppy, too. The only cat I would ever think of having around. Acted more like a fox, than a cat. Send an email to Clint to see if he's got another 'Clyde'. Sure strip a car in no time flat! ("Any which way but loose")
Thanks S-Norman. Our critters have always been a bit unique - no joe-stock ones, all rescues of one type or another, and every one of them has been more puppy like than cat for some reason. I believe it is the way we treat them and the way my wife "works" them. We love all critters, just don't live a lifestyle that allows for a dog or bird or -----but no snakes or spiders for us. I have to say that the time spent at the trailer event really did help get us over the first few days of emotion. Such outstanding people, very caring to a person, I'm glad to be a part of that group as well.
Safari, sorry for your pet loss, Mr Bo Jangles, my cat, brings so much happiness to the family, I'm sure I'll miss him when the time comes. On a redirect to the thread note, this weekend the Town & Country will pull the Airstream for the first time to a closeby campground for an Airstream rally. Pics to follow. MPJ
