Hi kids, Been working pretty hard lately, but just thought I'd drop in to leave a few pics from a recent local drive. You are probably most interested in the LTD, but you'll have to suffer a few extras Recliffe, Queensland, Australia Woody Point Glasshouse Mountains and the Sunshine Coast (this is my local area) My local "low traction vehicular training area" The Ettamogah pub
That Ettamogah beer sounds like Aussie Tequila! I saw the pineapples and wondered if anyone ever tried growing the Mexican Agape plant. They look like a Pineapple but the leaves grow to about 6 feet high and the 'piney fruit' grows to a couple feet in height and 18" in diam. That's where the Tequila comes from. My wife buys pineapples once in a while and cuts the shell off and lets it soak in water and a 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda for a few days. Moonshine, baby, without the still. You sip it, sitting down.
Oh really? That sounds like something I would be very interested in. As you can imagine, I go through a lot of pineapples (actually my wife eats them before I get the chance, but moonshine? Something tells me that would be safe to leave around can you PM me some details (if there is anything wrong with posting them directly) ? ie how many days, how much baking soda/pineapple skins etc. Much appreciated! I'll get Mrs. Mak onto the Mexican Agave. I'm a big tequila fan (well i used to be before the kids arrived)
Core out the fruity center of the pineapple, after washing off the pineapple (as it comes from the garden/store). Take the shell and chop it into 1/2" to 1" squares/chunks and soak in clean, fresh water at room temperature (low 70's) for 3 to 5 days. I got confused about the baking soda with another Mexican fruit. Just fresh, clean water. You might get a bit of green mold on top. Just spoon it off without disturbing the rest. She uses a 1 quart canning jar. Makes a nice cooler with a kick. Close the jar like you would a mayonaise jar, just enough to keep the contents fresh, not sealed tight.
Oh I've seen it all now! Where else can you get advice on how to fix your wagon, discuss your buddies wagon, and get a fine recipe for some home grown hooch??? Only here brotha! Yall are great! First comes: Then comes: Ultimately comes the praying to the porcelin Gods: Next day, the wife looking for you with the Honey-Do list in hand: Just to rub it in!
After the Do-Honey list or hers? Hey, I saw that you've been down to Coahila. You ever get to some of the junkyards?
Ya know I actually haven't been in a few years, but we used to go every year when we lived in Indiana as a kid. When we moved to Texas in the early 80's we went more often because we were sooo close, only about 8 hour drive vs a 22 hour drive. But now, Grandparents and other family members have passed and everyone else lives here in Texas. I still have distant family there, but we just don't get out that way very often, but believe me when I get my wagon road worthy it's definiely gonna make the trip from Indiana to Mexico for ol' times sake!
