Hi, I'm Dave. I just joined the group. Last week I bought an 84 LTD Country Squire. This is the first wagon that I've ever owned but I've wanted one for years. I just stumbled upon this one and decided I had to have it. Rust free, a couple of little parking lot dings, immaculate interior, and claims to have just 36,000 miles on it. I'm in love with it so far, my wife thinks I'm crazy for buying it, and my 13 yo son is already trying to lay claim to it for whe he gets his license. Going to use it for my daily driver. Wish me luck!
Welcome to the forum Dave! Sounds like a cool wagon for sure, and don't worry about the wife, most of them don't understand the wagon obsession so much, that's why we're here!
Hi Dave, I know what you mean, about the wife. Well, except for me it was the hubby. We both found a car we were looking for, his a '68 Camero. Mine a '68 Beaumont wagon. I agreed to go for the Camero cause that was what he has always wanted. But someone else snapped it up first, there was a bunch of guys after it, they had an incredible price on it. Anyway since there wasn't a line up for the wagon hubby gave in and let me get her. Dave I'm sure your going to have a ball with your new baby. But I gotta perpare you your wife is not the only one that will think your crazy. Sounds like your son is pretty cool.
Welcome to the nut house. What a fantastic looking wagon you found. Have great fun with her. It is good to hear that she's going to be a daily driver. These old Fords do love to be driven. With good maintenance, it is amazing how many miles you can accumulate on them, too. One 91 Crown Vic I know of is just over the million mile mark and still going like new.
welcome dave, i think you will find everyone here helpful, and will appreciate the beauty of your long roof. i know i do.
Yeah, I'm finding that friends and family have one of two reactions. Either, "Oh wow, that's cool" or "Why did you buy that?". I think it's starting to grow on my wife. She's still questioning my decision but she's posting pictures of it Facebook, and she smiles a lot when she is riding in it.
Welcome to the forum, Dave. It looks an awful lot like mine, although yours appears to be in better shape. Nobody around me understands why I bought it, but I love it and am sticking to my guns! Mine is an almost daily driver during the summer, but stored away for the winter months. I split my time between it and my MG, motorcycle and my 12-month a year pile of crap Equinox
well...id like to say ... 'ive got one too'.... but yours is waaaaay prettier than mine to the board ...and nice acquisition and it doesnt matter what others say....they'l all ask to borrow it
