I've heard he had a cool Volvo 960 station wagon.........with a Ford V-8 in it.

UPDATE: Here's a David Letterman trubute, including a discusstion on the Volvo.
    It starts about 3:30 in.

    And here's a write-up on it:

I chose to celebrate his life, last evening, plugging in the "Sting", and recalled the very end when I saw it in the theater. I was sitting in the front row, totally entertained, watching the credits, and what comes out but Paul Newman with a grin that made me laugh and feel amused that he had 'Stung' us all with his expertise and passion for his craft. If the studios ever issue another version of this fabulous movie, I hope they include that last segment.

On MSNBC, they had a list of all his movies and interesting tidbits. He left a whole world of his own for us to enjoy his artforms. Thanks Paul.

Do what I'm gonna do. Sit em down in front of "Slapshot", "The Hustler", and "Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid".

    They will find their way.

I forgot Slapshot. Have to go back and buy somemore of the VHS tapes... You're right though, the man made you connect. Redford told an interviewer that he lost a great friend, and when asked for details, Redford said, "That's too personal. Only my friend and I know."
