Just thought I'd do a little comparison...........

    VEHICLE......................WEIGHT...CARGO VOLUME...OVERALL LENGTH

    1990 Mercury
    Grand Marquis
    Colony Park..................4006...........89.3 cu ft...............218.0"

    '77 Chrysler
    Town & Country............5024.........102.4 cu ft...............227.7"

Remember the big Ford Excursion that was sold a few years ago - a monster vehicle if there ever was one. Well the overall length on one of those was 226.4 - an inch less than the '77 Town & Country.

Oh, man.....I want this car SO bad. The ad said southwest Minnesota....close to me. I was relieved to find that it is in South Dakota! I now have a reason to NOT go look! This is one of my favorite wagons of all time.

Or a Boeing 747. All three probably get about the same mpg! :biglaugh:

The car is likely around Sioux Falls, SD....about 6 hours from me. I love these cars and this one looks nice from here. I am manufacturing excuses to NOT go to look at this car.:D

South Dakota is interesting. I went there in 2004 to check out a car that I eventually decided against buying. Mount Rushmore is well worth seeing. What really struck me was how very sparsely populated the state is. Silverfox, if you're liking this Town & Country, it might be worth asking the seller for some more photos to determine if it's worth a trip to check it out personally. These Chryslers don't show up that often, and especially not looking as nice as this one appears to be.

This will pull anywhere from 14 - 20 mpg with either the 400 or the 440. Easily.

    IT FITS!

I just checked my garage. If I park this boat with the front bumper touching the back wall of the garage, I'll have about 3" to spare on the back between the rear bumper and the garage door.

Gosh Fox, it says Shipping is available

I know, to spend that kind of loot you have to have a look. Catch Amtrak, drive it home. What a road trip that would be, the weather is gorgeous, gets you out and about....................

Go ahead, break Fox's heart - actually, he'd be delighted to know it is going to a great new home KK. It is an absolute beauty in the pictures. When you go cruising in that you are seriously riding in comfort. Gliding down the highway, you and the love of your life (uh, the wife, not the car, it comes in after the kids to be politically correct).

I don't think I've seen another in anywhere near this condtion in the past few years (or more).
