    This is an interesting one.
If anything, the seller seems a bit too critical of the wagon. Haven't said that in a while. Read the text first before seeing the interior pics - was better than I thought it would be. He's not claiming (like some..) that you're going to get 25mpg, either.

I absolutely love the front end styling to the big '62 Olds. The rounded look of the rear I'm not so fond of.

Like the guys' concept drawing, except for the wheels being too big.

Yeah, KK...he's either real honest or he sells negative. In any case, this car could be right pretty easily. I can't believe that you were the only looker! I would love to have this one.

Yeah, West....if I didn't have a wagon I would be trying for this one. It looks like it never left California even though it did for awhile. This is a beautifully styled wagon that you can tell has been sheltered and taken care of over the years. Wish it was mine.

I really, I mean really, like these cars! This one looks similar to the one member "starfireelvis" on here has, the one that Jim has been working back into A1 shape. His is a "Dynamic 88", this one is a "Super 88" which I believe might be the top trim line on these for this model year? These are great wagons, the big early 60's GM wagons are what "wagoning" was/is all about! This particular one is optioned nicely also. Wonder if the AC blows cold? Did he mention anything about the radio? (y)

Oh.......several items don't work currently I see inc. AC and radio.

Sent starfireelvis a pm with linky to e bay ad and linky to this thread, didn't see another e mail on his info.

As much as I love the car I would have to put power windows in it. It's a must for me. I would get a kit and then find the correct door trim for the switches.

Nice looking wagon. Given recent pricing we've seen I would not be surprised to see it hit 10k and more.

I can't remember the last time I saw one of these on the road. It has been a very long time.

Hi MotoMike, thanks for bringing this to my attention. Will keep an eye on this one, for sure. The Super 88 is indeed a higher-trim level than the Dynamic 88; ironically enough, you could not get a third seat for the S88, only on the D88 (my D88 only has two).

Know I haven't posted in a while--don't worry, all is well, have been taking the wagon out and about all spring and summer, getting great comments. Did take the '62 Starfire to the Olds Homecoming in Lansing in June, then the NAOC National Meet in Columbus, Indiana the following week. In fact, last time I drove the Starfire before tonight was almost a month to the day I arrived home from that meet--the rest of the time, it's been the wagon!

I will post some more pictures soon updating the wagon--not much work done on it recently, still waiting for the linoleum from SMS. I have purchased a few items for it, though--will post them all once I get 'em all. You'll see what I mean, and know you will like it.

Again, thanks for bringing this to my attention, and we'll keep an eye on it...

    Mike

If it doesn't break $10K it won't sell IMHO. And...if it doesn't....I may end up owning it.

I like these wagons and this one in particular looks decent. The back end is maybe not my style but it is just different enough that if I owned it I'd come to appreciate it very quickly.

I suspect you would have fun with this wagon.

Wonder what that odd looking plastic elbow tee is doing on top of the the air cleaner?? My mom's 63 F85 air cleaner said "Ultra High Compression" on it too. Premium fuel engines, they will knock with regular in them, we found that out out in the country on a Sunday evening. My folks friend filled up his Continental from his gas pump at the truck line terminal he owned, we were low and he let us have some too. That poor little 215 knocked all the way back to town until it got back on its regular Gulf NoNox diet!
