Has anyone used the guys that take door dings out? I have five or six door dings on my wagon and wanted to see if these guys could get them out. I heard they drill holes in the doors and such to get access to the dents. If that is the case no way, I can remove all the door panels to get them full access if that would work. I don't have to have this done but I think if they could get them out it would look ten times better. Also was wondering about the cost
There's no way for anyone but the technician to estimate this, as they're all over the place with pricing. Current paint condition and accessability are two varaibles that come to mind.
I've had it done, with excellent results. You literally could not see where the dent had been, even if it were pointed out. I can tell you that there are dozens of different tools they use, designed to get into different areas. So yes, it all depends on how much access there is. See what they recommend for your particular situation, you may be surprised. One dent I have right now, the guy said not to bother removing the roll-down window, because it actually helps him get the leverage he needs with a certain pry bar. They also tend to adjust their pricing according to how many different panels they'll be dealing with....3 dents on one panel is a much different price than a dent on 3 different panels.
the guys that fix them here are great, cant tell where the dings were at all. but thats on new cars with thin sheetmetal
Ive used those guys quite a few times with excellent results....now i cant speak for companys in the USA....but up here...it ends up almost as much as 'body n paint'....just quicker and no mess
coudnt agree more these guys have the tools (lotsa tools) and knowledge to go places most would not dream of with great results. good luck
I've had really good luck with these guys... not sure how they do it but as mentioned previously, they have all kinds of little tools and tricks. I had two incidents where my Equinox got damaged and both times, about $100, dent gone like magic. Will likely have him fix a couple of tiny dings behind the woodgrain when I refinish the Country Squire. PS - the guy who fixes my dents said he did his course in St. Louis, so should be quite a few of those boys near Illinois.
