I've been a member since May 26, 2006. We have a great diverse group of people in the Forum. Those who have provided locations represent Canada, Netherlands, Australia, United Kingdom, Sweden, Nigeria and 25 states in the United States. This group represents more different places that other forums I associate with with over 9,000 members.

This says something about station wagons in general.

The question is what is everyone doing or plan to do this spring and summer? Except those in Australia who have already done their spring and summer activities so we should hear of what you've done. I hear very little about projects, plans, trips and the like. I'd like to know what your planning on doing to or with your wagons. I realize that we all have lives that don't include our wagons but I think sharing our plans would be fun to read.

Anyway, this year I plan on removing most of the interior of my Cougar in order to re-glue the new headliner I put in and also clean and repaint the plastics. Hopefully if I get real ambisious I'll attempt a repair of the air conditioner along with replacing the heater core that sprung a leak some three years ago. I also plan on spending some time in the salvage yards as I'm pretty sure that the rear hatch seal and door seals from a pre-2004 Ford explorer will fit my Mercury just fine. I may have to adjust for length. I'm also looking for a new steering wheel with the cruise control buttons too as mine is pretty badly cracked.

A couple of weekends ago I did a compression check on the engine and fi ve cylinders are measuring 150 psi. #4 was 152. Just a little more carbon is suspected. I think this is good as the engine is a 8.6:1 compression ratio.

I'd like to take a trip down south to Knott's Berry Farm for the annual Fabulous Fords Forever show this weekend but I can't this year. I think it would be great to show the Cougar wagon. There are many that don't know that Cougar wagons were built.

I think a little more chatter about what you are all doing or planning to do would liven things up around here and maybe even motivate those of us who may not have any specific plans. I for one want to hear.:yippee:

Once the snow melts and the spring showers are over, I want to detail my Mazda and Volvo wagon and take some pictures of them together. The Volvo has some small rust specs that I would like to fix as well. Other than that, I plan on attending more car shows and try to promote this site.

Well I just came in from doing a tune up. I plan on also fixing my rear headliner. I found out that the passenger plugs was buried a lot further down than what I thought. I also fixed a couple of dents that the previous owner put in while backing out of a garage. It needs a little touching up here and there but that can wait for now.

I'm in the process of selling by VW Bug. In the meantime I'm driving the wagon to and from work almost every day. Once things settle down a bit I'll be taking the interior out for a paint of the plastics etc.

first sunny and warm days here so:

with the Wagon that came from CA last year there was a set of stainless (GM) trailer mirrors, too rusty to use.
Still I tried to polish them up... never thought it would turn out this way with polish and a few hours of hard labor:

Now all I need is a 27 foot Airstream :)

Next week I will visit MO USA and finally will have the luggage carrier for the Wagon :yippee:

Still some minor things to do: re-paint the black centers of the Buick wheels, change the bumper guards for NOS etc...

I was lucky that the seller from Canada visited Detroit lately and took the carrier with him and had it send from there to Missouri; a difference of over $400 (shipping + taxes to Europe vs. shipping within the USA) made me a very patient guy. :)

Two weeks ago I visit the Airstream factory and took a tour. The 27 footers were very nice!

On another note does anyone know why heat would be coming out while the heats off. It's a tempamatic heat system.

    Wagon work

Well, the time has come for me to get off my butt and get some wagon work done.

I think I'll get started on the heat and air which will cause me to do something about the dash board cracks. The dash has to come out or this job so it's a good opportunity. And one thing leads to another so I may as well clean up under the hood too. Clean, paint and finally replace all the old vacuum lines for the emission controls. This should keep me busy for a while.

In order to get the "A" pillar trim off inside the dash cover has to be off. I do want to repaint all the interior plastics.

    See....one thing leads to another.:90:

I tried to take my door panel off real quick to oil the window mechanisms but it wouldn't come off real fast. There was some screw holding it on that I couldn't see. Repair manual wasn't much help either so I washed it instead.
