This is an article posted by a Canadian writer in 1973 - yes, a long long time ago by todays standards, but it is so relevant to where we are at again today that I thought I would share it with our American friends once again. Remember, this was done 39 years ago, yet when you read it all you need to do is change the names of the various places and it still rings true, we are proud of our own country, but most Canadians are also proud to have America as our partner. http://www.tysknews.com/Depts/Our_Culture/americans.htm So Happy Independance Day - enjoy your day with family, friends, and remember that the country you live in is the greatest country on earth and that is only because of the people who make it so.
Thanks Saf57. We are kind of fond of our Canadian brothers and sisters also. Hope everyone has a safe and fun Independence Day. Now off to light the grill and take the kids swimming in the pool. Just a note on the 39 years ago being a long time ago by today's standards, I was born in 1973 never considered that old until a couple guys I work with in thier early 20's would say "You older guys probably remember..."
Another Independance day, a time to reflect and be thankful. Sadly, some of us wonder if there will be many more Independence days left here in America. Silverfox and I were there for the original signing of the Declaration of Independence and remember how proud most were to be free from other countries. Let's hope the people of America wake up and demand Independence and freedom to continue. Enjoy this day with family and friends. Take time out to be thankful, eat a few hotdogs, drink a few beers, and enjoy the fourth of July celebrations where you live.
Well said, Cat. And welcome back, buddy! I thought you would be gone longer....I was having withdrawal!!
To all our American members Happy 4th of July. Hope you enjoy your day! Welcome back Cat, missed yeah.
