Me too! 1959 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible, with A/C of course. May throw in a fin if it's fire-engine red and in showroom condition
Here theyd want around 4800 bucks for that and call it a " project car for a father and son " . WTF is that a 64-86 Caprice ? Impala ? The car ads on craigs never cease to amaze me. Im so sick of seeing stupid high prices on old American cars. makes no sense that during the high flying real estate run-up and past irrational exuberance, old classic cars were WAY cheaper.
Empties for a alcoholic! This ad poped up here today http://www.usedvictoria.com/classified-ad/empties-for-alcoholic----_17633805 i am an alcoholic and the price of booze is killing me,so any empties(or full ones ) would really help me out thank you..i can drive over and pick them up if cant drop them off
Well CL is free. So you get some of everything. As I said before here, that Chevy box Caprice that was posted , people will post junk like that saying its a project car and ask 11K for it. They church it up by saying its got factory ac or that " it ran when it was parked 20 years ago " ebay dosent have crap like that because you have to pay.
A few years ago, I drove from Fort Lauderdale to Long Island, NY to pick up a Pinto wagon, I know , I was told the car had a tiny bit of rust and a small dent in the door. The pictures the guy emailed me were kind of crappy. Anyways, it was a rust bucket, had a huge dent in the door and a broken windshield. I had already paid him before I drove there, I know . There was a Craigslist ad from a girl who was in auto body school looking for a free car to practice on. They showed up with a trailer and were surprised to find out they could drive it away. Her free car cost me about a $1000.
I have a friend who got burned by CL similar to that. He found a 57 Bel Air outside Nashville TN online. The pics looked great. The price was decent, this was before the brokers and europeans started gobling these things up. I warned him about buying it but he did anyways , sight unseen. The pics looked great and it supposedly ran excellent. When it got here via car carrier, it was barely more then a shell. The pics were taken around 35 years ago. After about 70K he made the car right. You both learned something, the hard way.
