The a/c putting out hot on acceleration is a simple diagnosis. You have a vacuum leak somewhere, and with the reduced vacuum of an open throtle, it defaults to heat mode. It is vacuum that swings the temp door to the cool settings. You obviously have the climate control system, since the manual a/c used a temperature cable to operate the mixing door. I'm having the same problem on Nora at the moment. trying to track down the leak can be a challenge, but that is what it is.

Ok. Took a 20 ton press to remove my axle bearings and it sounded like a gun shot. That is what happens when the bearings on your pinion gear aren't good and you rear end overheats.
Monday I get the new bearings for the whole rear, the seals, gaskets, and the hard to find NOS clutch discs, springs and what not for my posi third member.

Also, don't drop a quart of POR-15 on the carpet. If you do by accident, don't get it on your hands, I hear that it stains them almost instantly. It is a very big waste of money to test this out.

Been building new mounts for the new buckets for the wagon. And welded up the old holes for the prior seats. These new ones are going to be very comfortable, but what a pain in the patoot putting them in. One more day should do it, then on to some other things that I've forgotten already need doing. Now I've got to remember where I put the list of things to do. Heck, I looked for 3 hours today for brackets I'd made up for the seats, then while we were sitting on the deck eating lunch I remember putting them in the back of the wagon just before we left. :49: Like why would I do that? I'd never remember to look there :banghead3:. And yes, I've looked, and the list is not in the back of the car. I don't remember where the heck I put the darned thing. Probably in the trunk of the Chevelle the way things have been going.

Think thats bad? I came in to the house for an OJ and some tea. While I was pouring milk in to the tea I realized that I was actually pouring milk in to the OJ. CRAP!!!!! I think these new drugs the doctor has put me on are just outstanding . I never had these issues in the past so life is great.

I finally found that pesky little exhaust leak. I welded it shut and now it sounds like it should. Also installed the correct pulley on the alternater and installed the A/C belt and guess what? ICE COLD, how lucky can a guy get

Good news on the A/C. And just at the right time of year.

Exhaust leaks are always a pain and when you finally find the sucker and put it out of its misery, you feel like you have accomplished something very worthwhile.

Its the little "wins" that seem to make me feel good.

No doubt on the little wins, that stupid exhaust leak has been driving me crazy, that little tick tick tick sound drove me nuts. Anyway, the wagon has bbeen up for sale and I have had alot of close offers to the $7,000 I want for it but no one has hit that mark. AND in hinesight, that makes me happy because I don't know why I even thought about selling it. What was I thinking

Every once in awhile I pull a bonehead, I sold my 83 Hurst/Olds that way and my 75 Impala Wagon. You would think I would have learned my lesson. Tonight we are heading to the drive-in with the hot rods. I will be in my wagon, wife in her 67 Firebird, mom and dad will be in the 55 Pontiac, brother in his 73 Nova and the inlaws in the 62 Impala Convertible. Of course I think I am driving the coolest one of the bunch,

Cruised to the drive in, ended up just me and my wife, father and a few friends. My brother and father in law thought it was to hot. Great time but I was wishing there would have been my older cars. We were the only three cars there pre 1990. Oh well, it was still fun

Safari57 - what new bucket seats are you trying to install - what are they out of? (Or - was that already mentioned - maybe from a mid 90's Chrysler?)
