Not cheap, but a great solid southern car http://nh.craigslist.org/cto/3059071831.html located in southern NH
Not Cheap Many on here seem to think anything over 3G's is to much. Any REAL car from 1972 or 73 ( and even that is late as far as Classic desirables go) on down is worth way more than anything newer than that.( Unless you have the Ultra Rare wagon as the New Fellow , he has a SS wagon 454 , way to cool!) That includes Wagons. Supply and demand drive the market all over the World. Could go on and on .... about prices. Restore a few and then talk to me. Nice car for the money if as described. Hope you sell it for what it's worth to someone.
The '72 was, by far, the best-looking Torino ever. I'd be on something like this one. Not real crazy about the ochre color, but still, it's a sweet-looking ride.
If it had wood.... there is omething about that colour with wood that looks soooo good....with magnum 500's. Only one pic of car......way to much $ because of that alone IMO. But, I dooo like it....like it more with magnum 500's:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
For as original, solid and rust free as that car is..I feel its worth every penny of 6 grand.. I just don't have 6 grand to spend on a wagon right now I even prefer the no-wood look.. Color isn't my favorite, but I could certainly drive it~ The Thunderbird wheels look OK on it.. and it comes with the correct steel wheels and hubcaps.. but like others have said, the first (and only) mod I would make would be to add a set Magnums~ I'm living in some sort of dream world where I'll find a baby blue or midnight blue in driver condition for $2500 LOL~ Maybe some day~
It is very nice and I think if that is the wagon someone has been looking for they will pay that but we tend to pay more for a car that strikes a cord with us, for me it is box caprice wagons and would probably tend to pay a little more for one than someone who is into colony park wagons but most here are car guys and a few gals and have restored a few cars and know it is cheaper to buy than build. I am at that point where if I could. afford one done I would fork over more than what some think it is worth while others will think it is worth it. Just my
Coincidently, the wife decided to watch 'Meatballs' with Bill Murray today, while I was at my desk. Just as it was getting started, she said "Neat wagon!". She ran the DVR back to show me a nice '72 Gran Torino Squire. ------------------------------------------ As to wheel appearance on those, I always thought these were cool wheel covers on the Torinos:
Oh baby, what a sweet looking car. I don't mind the one for sale either, but this blue one would be awful hard to walk away from. In terms of pricing, everything has gone up. Go for lunch and it used to be six bucks, now its ten or more for the same thing. A movie is 25 bucks and then you add the obligatory popcorn and pop and licorice and you've just killed $40 or more. Heck, a tank of gas for the truck was $80 on Saturday. My sphincter muscles still hurt from that one. So a decent car, no rust issues, low miles, ready to go, we have to expect the pricing will go up accordingly as has everything else. Wait another couple of years and see what is happening - I think we'll be thinking these current prices are a steal and wishing we'd stuck a few of these away for resale down the road. I don't particularly like the fact that they cost so much as a buyer, as a seller though I can see where you would want to get enough out of your car to replace it with whatever it is you are looking at. That blue wagon, is it for sale somewhere?
