There's been a good deal of work done recently(?) I wouldn't give 6200 for this wagon though with that level of "patina" though.

That is probably what the seller has in it.

Yesterdays prices are todays bargains. The prices on wagons have bee rising because there is a shortage of good unrestored cars on the market, and wagons are all that is left in the collector market that is still cool to own. :2_thumbs_up_-_anima

Personally, I probably would pay the $6200 if I couldn't get it any lower. Alot of work has already been done. Some might say, "What about all the money it would take to restore the body?" Well, I wouldn't restore the body. I'd run her just like she is :D

Are those wire wheel covers factory equipment for that model and year? They look pretty good on it. If the rubber is good on it and it didn't have the 3 sp manual, I might go closer to the seller's asking price on it. Bet the 3 sp is kinda rare on these.

It wouldn't be worth that kind of money to me, if only because I could imagine it needing another $10-$12K worth of work by the time you do paint and the interior.

Those wheel covers are 100% correct for that car. The 3 speed transmission was the standard production and the automatic was a extra cost upgrade. Well worth the money, even needing paint and a few other items. Where are you going to find another for less money?

    Old Cars

    First of all ,
Doing a car for yourself is great , as you can do it when time and expense are only for you to think about. unfortunatly , wagons and next 4Drs. are going to be the next American iron to go up. simple , Supply and demand for American Iron. It'ds getting more scarce bye the the second. Try and buy wagon parts ! Pay the labor to restore ETC......
Cost money unfortunatly , that's why everyone has to stay ahead of the trend. Hear me now and believe me later. Buy 4 drs. Now with V8 , Auto trans , air. Then build it the way you want. Just my opinion , and as whe all know, where opinions come from

Well, wagon prices are whatever the market will bring. Personally, if I couldn't get this Vista fairly cheap, I would rather pay more and go with a car needing a lot less work like the nice red 77 Estate wagon we're all watching. :)

...exactly. What did that '77 Buick Estate sell for the first time - $6,100!!!
Not hard to figure out which is the better deal. You gotta want a '65 Vista Cruiser pretty bad to pay $6,200 for this thing. From what I'm seeing, there's far better value in the newer stuff.........

KK ? "From what I'm seeing, there's far better value in the newer stuff........."

    Short term

The older vehicles have already fully depreciated. The 70s and up still have plenty of room to fall.
