That's not the worst of it, Senri. Between accidents, rising metal prices, rust, and car-jackings, you've also got charities offering $500 for a tax credit on old cars, and governments under pressure to get the old cars off the road.

We also had the demolition derby epidemic, which wiped out a lot of good old station wagons. The drivers preferred them to sedans because they could absorb more rear hits without becoming undriveable. Lots of good 60's and early 70's wagons met their demise in this way.

If you find a clean wagon for a decent price, you have to jump on it. I'll give you an example. I bought a really clean 1993 Caprice wagon in 2004. It was an elderly man's car, his son was selling it for him. It had 59,000 miles on the clock and I picked it up for $5,900. I had the intentions of customizing it. My wife ended up driving the car for a year, because it got 19-20 on the highway. Her Blazer was lucky to break 15 mpg. One of the best cars I ever owned. What did I do? I decided to sell it. Biggest mistake I made! What makes this worse, I sold it to a lady that lives in our town, so yeah, I see the car a lot.
It took me literally 2 years to find another B-Body wagon replacement. I did end up getting a lot better car. My 1996 Roadmaster WB4. It wasn't an easy search though. Every time I would run across a wagon that was priced just right with low miles, it wouldn't be there for long.
The moral of the story is, keep searching, you may eventually find the wagon you're looking for, but be prepared to take action on it.
The exceptionally clean ones are getting harder to come by these days.

Well it has been a Good and Bad day, Sold the 83 Cutlass wagon!!!!! So now I am at least not Broke, Loaded up the 3 Greyhounds & the wife, went for a drive to the Dog Park, and the Smog pump froze up on the Impala. Threw the Altinator Belt, and had to limp home, But she made it the 30 miles home without an issue. Now weather or not to replace the pump, the car is so stock I almost have to.

Thanks! I think I saw this one on autotrader.com last night. I did locate a really nice one-owner in Sioux Falls last night. It's a woody wagon though.
I much rather prefer the non-wood. I guess I shouldn't be too picky. Looking at your car, got me the bug to search ads again.
