Yes the Stingray style. I don't know why but a 68-72 was always my favorite. But after seeing this 82 I flipped for it.
Just before we bought our 77 Vette I nearly bought a 73 with the last year rear chrome bumper. It was a block from home, stored in a garage for years, and low mieage. it was also that yellow-tan color I called baby-Poo yeller! So what did I do? Bought an orange one! But it was a very pretty orange. There were at least three diferent orange colors back in the 68-77 era. Wife headed out to her latest Vet appointment. Okay, doctor! Guess I better take her. That 82 looks great.
Steve needs to find a 'support group' for guys who want station wagons but are stuck driving Corvettes..........
Congrats TB We have had a few over the years, a '68 roadster 427/4sp, an 81 and an 82, then until a couple of years ago we had a '72 roadster 454/auto. Nice cars, I just could not take the harsher ride any longer and with my DW wanting another 70 SS Chevelle, we have gone down that path. Funny how every time I see one I get the urge to have another, and then sanity kicks in when I realize the only car I typically drive is the Safari, with the Chevelle a poor second cousin. That was the case with the last vette - I enjoyed it but the last few times I drove it, to get out, I had to roll out on to my hands and knees, then stand up. Got a few stares. Your newer model will handle and ride far better than any of ours did. I'd have to say the nicest to drive one was the '82.
Congrats on the 'vette and it being a chevy, I have owned a ford or two but have mostly been a GM guy. One of my close friends is a ford guy and just bought a chevy nova. I appreciate all cars but jokingly always tell my ford friend " I would rather have a sister in a whore house than a brother that owned a ford." But it is just a joke because I like the fox body wagons and sevral other fords and the man upstairs has a sense of humor because my 14 year old daughter is crazy over mustangs and wants one when she is old enough to drive!
Congratulation...a Vette...cool Never really warmed up to vettes. Hope you find a more graceful way to exit your car. Another 40lbs that deserves a metal! That is not an easy thing to do, hang in there I'm sure you can do it. Enjoy your new car.
