Does anyone know what the original tire brand and size came standard on the 1987 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Colony Park Station Wagon? I want to replace the black sidewalls and replace them with OEM or as close to OEM whitewalls as possible. Thanks. Max:)

I believe Firestone was the OEM supplier for Ford until the Explorer separating tire issue.
If you still have the original paperwork for the car, there may be a leaflet in the back in regards to the tires from the tire manufacturer.
As far as the size, check the tire loading sticker in the RR Door Jamb- it will tell you the correct size.
I purchased a set of whitewall Firestone FR380 in 225/75/R15 last year from the local Firestone store. They were 83.99 per tire, which I suspect could be found cheaper. I am pleased with them overall.

There were 2 different tires that the factory installed. Some cars came with the Michelin, some with the Firestone. If memory serves, the Michelin was more common on cars from the St. Thomas, Ontario plant, and the Firestone more common from the St. Louis plant. Either way, unless you are showing the car, skip them. Neither was worth a pinch of coon ****. My 89 lasted all of 6 months on the original Michelins, and off they came. Unfortunately, there no longer seems to be any sort of capable whitewall out there. I was just hunting for a set for the Thunderbird. I gave up and went with blackwall Sumitomo T rated. Either way, the 215/70R15 is not enough tire. The police package tire (225/70R15 100H) rides and handles better.

I think it was a Firestone 721 that was factory fitted to my 89. I know that the dealership swapped them for a set of Michelins from a Colony Park GS for me. By using the wagon rims they didn't have to sway the tires off the rims, since the trailer towing package on the sedan included the wagon rims. Either way, they came off within 6 months as they were HOPELESSLY inadequate. I put on a set of BF Goodrich T/A Advantages (a white wall version of the Radial T/A) in a 225/70R15. Much better ride and handling. "Marcus" would at least stay on the road!
