This yellow and white ’57 Chevy Wagon was stolen from the garage of a man who spent five years restoring it. It was supposedly stolen by a man who ran from the cops after they tried to pull him over for driving a stolen pickup. The man manged to run away and supposedly hid in the garage of the house where this Chevy was parked. The poor Chevy was just a victim of circumstance.
A classic yellow Chevy wagon, a loud one at that, pretty audacious choice for someone trying to blend in. Let’s hope it gets recovered and is returned to the owner and the thief gets shot his hands cut off arrested. Another picture after the jump.

Really. I hate it when cars are stolen. Especially a resto like this one. Funny thing is...it was not stolen because it's a beautiful and expensive car...it was stolen because it was there and the crook needed a get-a-way car! I would THINK the cops would have caught him real SOON! That car doesn't exactly blend in!

Hope the wagon is okay. I'll bet that owner adds new locks and an alarm to his garage.
I'd also add guard dogs and razor wire on a 10' fence with booby traps and a moat with gators. :rofl2:Sensor lites and sirens that go off from motion and sound.

Yeah but that's the norm for Florida, we're taking Canada eh! We leave keys in the ash tray, out of sight, out of mind. The pad lock lined up so it looks like it's locked but not really, it just looks like that from a distance, tricks them everytime. The dog napping in the livingroom cause it's to cold to leave him out, but he's still on the alert. And the neighbours are all on Neighbourhood Watch...after they get up or home from work or the mall or Timmies...no worries we got it covered! (y)

You see what happens in Florida at neighborhood watches !!!!!!

Until I bought my pick up truck I always left my keys in the other vehicles. We live in the boonies and the odds of someone sneaking up and taking one is slim. Even my wagon has the keys in it but the garage is always locked and my pet gators don't get fed more than once every few weeks. :rofl2:

Sounds like I need to move to another part of Canada. My hometown has a long standing history as a retirement center for aging Mafiosi. For years there was NO crime in our town at all. Any crimes that were committed were resolved "without police involvement" if ya knowwhutImean. Now that all of the old-timers have passed on, all bets are off.

Terry Bradshaw's show(see link below) paints our city as one helluva place to live. It's true, I can't imagine wanting to live anywhere else, but the officers on patrol in the downtown core at night are all SWAT team members in full gear.

After 17 years in the security industry, I don't leave anything unlocked, EVER.

All the expensive alarm systems, Pit Bulls, Rottweilers, locks and such will not foil a would be thief as quick as a hidden switch........one that only the owner knows about and that kills the ignition system. Not many thieves, especially one that is running from the cops will have time to troubleshoot a prospective getaway car for wiring problems.:2_thumbs_up_-_anima
