I was just told, yesterday, that I was crazy for wanting to put propane in my 68 Falcon Wagon. An "Expert", who has done "100's of those carburetor switch overs" told me I needed to trade the car for a '96 or above and then propane would work great. Trade my '68 for a '96 anything ??? HELLO !!! Earth to expert. Earth to expert.

I think Propane is brilliant. But I can't find anyone who can tell me how to do it, what I need, etc.

Keep up the good work, brother.

I finished the carb rebuild and it goes back on the car tomorrow.

Your grinder only lasted 15 years...??? They just don't make things like they use to do they ??? Why I can remember when I was your age.... Just joking.... Beautiful job on your propane installation.

I live in Florida and I would do that in a heart beat if I knew where to get the stuff.

Just talk to these guys across the pond. They will tell you exactly what you need and what the parts are called and how they are installed. Then you can hunt the parts here.:yup:

Also, I REALLY would like to convert my tailgate window to a power window. The manual crank has been welded one too many times.

Can anyone, please help me with this problem. I have emails to three company's that have power window kits, but they haven't answered me.

that's B.S……..i have owned and driven many classics with small blocks and big blocks, that run on propane, and let me tell you….they run just fine, start up every morning (even in the cold winter)
there's a bit of power-loss, there a few miles less to the gallon, but it's so much cheaper to drive your classics around..as we all yel>>>propane is not just for cooking:lolup:

After installing the kit, al the changes i've made are #1 different spark-plugs and #2 installed a new thermostat 160'F instead of the original 185'F
    (propane burns hotter than fuel)
On my '68 Belair i can switch from fuel to propane, the '64 Impala is only propane.

The crazy thing in this story is that there are many makes that offer propane-conversions, but for a V8 you'll need the good stuff…..made by Impco >>>>>>>>MADE IN THE USA.
In the usa, I have been told that it's used on some government vehicles, forklifts e.a.
Over here we pay different fuel-prices (quick conversion/ gallon-liter / dollar-euro) we pay $8,35 for a gallon of regular fuel……………………now you now why propane is so popular on this side:banghead3:
I'll look into the products and retailers and i'll post that info later,

(see if the "EXPERT" owns a '96 or younger car……..my guess is…he just wants your '68);)

    66 Nova Wagon Photo Gallery

I need to do some cleaning/organizing in the garage, then I hope to get the wagon back in there for some work (changing steering box, converting to manual steering).

I was looking at a Tempest wagon today. The owner bought a power window motor and fabricated a bracket to hold the motor in position to drive the manual gear sector for the back window. Works well and it only cost a few bucks for the wiring and the motor. I'm not sure if the Ford set-up is similar, but it didn't take much modification on his Pontiac.
    Just an idea...

OK, OK...guess I should have been more specific....:scratchchin:

He used a late-model front window motor - a junkyard cheapie, not a specific kit for his application.
