*rolls eyes* Don't need another car but checking on it anyway. From the ad it seems a spoiled kid got it handed from their grandparents... older ad so probably already snatched up though http://albany.craigslist.org/cto/2828444003.html
Kid obviously knows nothing about cars. Heck my newest vehicle I own is a 1996. Those Eighty-Eights run forever anyways and this one's got practically no miles on it.
If it's not sold I'll go right over with cash.. and say.. old? with 89kmi? and show them the satty's odometer
I have yet to get anything newer than a 1987, and it has been that way since 1998. It seems the majority of my cars have been that year as well, followed by 1978's. I'll stick with my carbs and RWD, thanks.
There is no Tags fee in NY. They expire they either get turned in or you keep them. They are good for 2 years and if you renew your registration, you can keep the old tags or get new ones. Tags don't belong to a car for life like in some states, you can swap them from one car to the next with reg transfer. We don't have any penalty fees or any of that junk like some crook states do. The only way to pay a fine on tags, is if you let your insurance expire and have not turned in the plate. You then have 2 choices. Pay a $7 per day fine for every day the car was uninsured but still had the tags, or turn in the tags for 30 days.
That's been my philosophy for the most part, as well. My only 'new' cars I ever had were 2003 and 2000 Crown Vic P71's.
No reply back.. probably yet another poster that both refuses to delete his ad when sold or to even let people in any way know its sold ignoring e-mails.. WTF is up with people? I guess they just enjoy hearing "You've got mail!" and feeling popular? Edit: Just sent a second e-mail to them.. and included instructions on how to delete the ad if its sold
That's my kind of car. Brake lines changed. Question is how long before fuel leaks develop and the parking brake seizes? Also, how wet do the carpets get when driving in rain? New York cars, gotta love 'em!!! I'd actually give $500 for a car like that, I just can't make a long trip to go get it. If the AC worked I'd give more. Right now waiting to hear from a guy in North Dakota on an '83 Olds 98 coupe he wants $500 for. He's debating, sell it, or derby it, or cut it up and make a yard buggy, or strip for parts and scrap it. He has other cars that could use the 307. I just want to know if it has any terminal rust that could make it no longer roadworthy (crossmembers, frame rails, suspension mounting points, etc) or if the bumpers are about to fall off. He's willing to bring it as far south as Kansas when he comes around to buy derby cars. I can go to Independence or Wichita or something southerly.
