Just picked this one up. I have always been a fan of the big 70's cars. I currently own this wagon and a 75 impala. Yeah I used to be a "Derby" guy but I am more about keepin these old girls on the road now. The wagon is pretty clean overall with a few rust spots that will need attention. 455,400 turbo that runs great. 6 seater which you dont see to many of. Interior is clean and the dash pad isnt even cracked!
Nice find. Almost never see the Pontiac clamshell wagons anymore. I occasionally see the Buick, Olds ,and Chevy versions though. Can't remember when I last saw a Pontiac wagon like that.
Welcome to the forum, Tank. Guys are right - certainly fewer of the Pontiac clamshells around than the other brands.... That one is certainly worthy of your efforts. Marshall
No snow where you are, not much here either...not a complaint just an observation. Welcome aboard, kinda glad to here you gave up you other hobby for this new one...
Welcome. Nice ride you've got there! Looks like those bumper stickers could very well be from one of the first, if not the first, family road trips in it.
Thanks guys. Here is the story on how I ended up with it. Some of you noticed the "Disney World" bumper stickers. Well the orginal owner purchased this car for the purpose of taking his family to the opening of Disney world! He drove the car very little after this and it ended up being parked under a tree where it sat for many years. The car is from Nebraska and made its way back to Iowa to its second owner if thats what you want to call him as he only bought the car with the intentions of selling it. A friend of mine bought it and only put 400 miles on it in a 1 year and decided to sell. I have been searching for a clean solid "clamshell" for quite awhile and the price was right on this one. So now it lives in Illinois. It does have some rust on the roof drip edges that will need fixed and a couple spots on the hood and driver side rear quarter. The spare tire area is perfect which you hardly ever see on these cars. It needs a few mechanical items delt with under the hood but nothing major. Looking forward to doing a little cruisin in it this summer. Here are a fw more pics.
hatetank . Nice wagon. Enjoy cruisin the roads of Illinois and havin a good time here in the wagon forum.
