Geez.... I'm addicted to 2 things.. Craigslist and Cars. Wagons have always been a favorite.. Still very affordable. Looking at Craigslist today seeing 3 that caught my eye... it's like I need a fix.. a "high" that getting another wagon can only cure.. well not cure.. but a least curb my need for a wagon fix for awhile. I don't understand this. I SHOULD be perfectly happy with my current project ... right?

Hmmmm... I'll fight it as long as I can, but I'm Jones'in man! :cold: :slap:

My attention span can be brief when it comes to hobbies, so I find it can be easy to lose interest in a project when I hit a stumbling block. A new "score" is always fun, hence it's entertaining to look at ads. It's also easier to surf the web looking at potential new scores, than dealing with whatever project problem is befuddling me at the moment.

If you can visualize your project in a more finished state, that can help give you the incentive to keep pushing forward.

Maybe some of the other posters here have tips they can suggest for how to keep your interest level going for your current project, and keep evil temptation for new projects at bay.

I'd sure like to help you guys. But I have six cars and an old motorhome started as projects. Some I haven't worked on in 20 years. My problem has been I will get most of the dirty work finished and some other car, wagon, panel truck, motorcycle, or toy will catch my eye and follow me home!:slap:
Now I got old, fat, poor, lazy, and discovered this computer!:rofl2:
I have never looked at Craigslist or E-Bay and hopefully never will. I even stopped buying Hemmings and those other nasty car and truck magazines. I would have been better off to been buying Porn magazines all these years. :(

What the...? Am I the only one who just wants to know more about the three wagons you found?
Yes, you need to save all three. Theres nothing wrong with you. Just do it...and post pictures.
And if you don't hurry, they could be gone, and you'll forever wonder, "what if...".

Cars are an addiction for me, in general. I ran into a guy who I used to work with and I told him I hadn't bought a new car in almost a year and he about fell over. I usually buy a couple a year haha! I'm itchin' to buy a new one somethin' fierce!

Yes! I can sooo relate with this! It's not that I get stuck... or don't want to finish what I started.. it's just that I want to SAVE them all! I need about 10 aces with a airplane hangar for storage! :tiphat:

I my house the wife controls the purse strings....Otherwise I'd have 20-30 cars and trucks. I'm an addict and the wife is definately not an enabler.

If it were the opposite we'd be living in a trailer on the back of a broke down Suburban surronded by all kinds of projects that I couldn't afford. Now I have two 20 year old projects to take care of, they are both on the road and just as soon as the wifes car is paid off a carefully selected "project of the day" will appear in the garage. It allows lots of time for careful shopping, planning, coniveing etc.

I am a gear head to the max. Have been since I was 3 years old pushing a Tonka dump truck all over the house.
I have a lot of hobbies but concentrate on model cars, slot cars and art. My wagon is not really a hobby, to me. Tho, some might disagree.
I bought it because I needed something to drive and something to haul around the t-shirts. Can't afford two cars so the one had to fit both needs. If we quit the t-shirt business tomorrow I would probably sell the wagon and get another Mustang. (Probably a '69 convertible this time)
In the mean time, I am enjoying working on the '58 Ranch Wagon and find driving it to be a lot easier than I expected it to be. The more stuff I fix on it, the more normal and comfortable it becomes. Eventually the challenge will be gone and I'll sell it and find another project.

73super, when are we going to see some work done on that cool '58? :bouncy:

Well, I like to eat as do my kids. That tends to take precedence over buying more projects.

If I still lived in the country I'd have to weed eat instead of mow!

My wife steps in the way a lot bringing up the Code Nazi's 1st.
I still prevail part of the time & we all still eat well
