I would wait for a better example of the one you like the most. It may take a little longer, but I think its worth the wait to get what you really like most.

Can't make any kind of educated call without makes, models, years, etc. Huge difference between makes and models. :banghead3:

I know this one isn't one of the three you're considering, but if I were a Pontiac guy, I think I would be looking into this '59. Especially since you've got family in New Hampshire, as we know. They could check it out for you and maybe pick it up.

1959 Pontiac Bonneville safari station wagon. I have had the body work done on this vehicle, and she is in primer now, and ready for paint. I have all the chrome, bumpers, roofrack chrome, everything. This car has a lot of that! If you like station wagons, this one is a real buy. Interior is all there. Vehicle is in Concord, and can be seen at 163 Loudon Road. Stop by or call me at (603) 341-4139. Thank you.

Sounds to me like you have not personally seen or touched any of the cars. I would not buy a car without having personally inspected it.

That was the first I seen of that other thread :hmmm: but on to your dilema, the one you may be able to get a title for may turn out to be a lot of trouble so I wouldn't mess with it unless you know you can get one for sure. I had a similar problem once and it didn't cost much but took months, a bunch of phone time and just genrally a pain in the a#$ so unless you are sure of that one I would cross it off my list...just my :2cents:. Good luck any way you go! :tiphat:

If it were me, and I do have mechanical skills, I'd still opt for the complete car. Engine and tranny are not big deal but do cost and you'll drive yourself nuts getting all the little bits and pieces together.

The complete car especially if it's currently running is the better deal financially.

Despite my lack of proper information, your replies here helped me to make up my mind. I should be picking up a wagon, and will post here when I am able to complete the deal and get it here. I went with the complete car. I really don't have time for a major project, so the engine-less cars would be a bad idea for me.

I will be happy to have a wagon and be a full-fledged member of the group.

This is an easy group, you don't need a wagon to be a member... I'm betting we have more wagons than members anyway. Heck, you don't need much to be a member... Some of us are lacking all kinds of stuff. (Brains, self control, a realistic perspective.....Or is it just me?) Ha Ha...

Regardless, keep us posted and don't forget the pictures!

In my opinion, this is an easy answer - buy the most complete car you can find. Whatever you THINK it's going to cost inevitably costs at least twice as much to fix or replace. Happy hunting!

"I don't really want a project, I want to be cruising by the first warm weather."

Words to live by. Nothing worse than not being able to drive a project. been there done that. Just keep looking. The wagon will find you trust me.
