I may need to change the fuel tank in the 67 wagon. Does anyone know if the wagon uses the same or a different tank then the other models.

Like several items on the Mopar long roofs, the fuel tank is wagon only. :(

...and as I recall, no one makes a repro for the tank or the fuel sending unit.

Same as the 60s Ranchero/wagon tank. All the repro tanks say: "Fits all cars (except Wagon and Ranshero)" Go figure.

Yep..B body wagon tanks are not interchangeable with other body styles.
however...the C body wagon fuel sending units DO fit and work.

Thanks for the info. that is what I figured based on parts for my 52 suburban. The It looks like the PO made a repair on top of the tank by the filler tube , only started leaking when I topped off the tank. I will have to get a better look at it maybe only leaking at the tube.

If thats the case, then before you even go to the trouble of taking anything apart, try to get a new grommet for the filler tube opening in the gas tank. I don't know for sure, but I would guess that its probably the same grommet used on other Mopars of that vintage, so its likely one that is available reproduction. That grommet has dried out and leaked on just about every 66-67 B-body hardtop and convertible I've ever had.

Pretty sure '66 & '67 B-body wagons are the same and if it's anything like tanks that I've taken out of other Mopar wagons then it's a bitchy job. Rusty bolts and inner splash shields to start with plus you have to basically unbolt the passenger side leaf spring and lower the diff to get clearance. If you don't absolutely have to then don't do it.

Sorry to gravedig a topic, but if C-body wagon sending units fit, where can you get them? The sender in my 67 Coronet is dead and I've had no luck finding any senders that aren't "except wagon."

I don't know. I spent a good deal of time looking for them a while back with another member (name escapes me now) who had a 71(?) monaco wagon. We came back with nothing out there.

After a lengthly discussion on moparts.com, I determined that 66-67 wagons use the exact same tank as the sedans. The LATER wagons had different tanks, and apparently everyone assumes all wagons were always different from sedans and hardtops. But 66 through 68 wagons definitely (69s maybe) use the 66-67 B-body sedan tank and sender.

What was the outcome of this? I've even called tank companies and cannot get a straight answer. Does the wagon take a standard 66-67 B-Body tank?
    Thanks!

Yes. Same gas gas tank in the 66-70 B body wagon as in the 66-67 B body convertible, coupe and sedan.

This makes me kind of happy! I’m not questioning you necessarily, but you did this yourself so you’re speaking from experience? Are you for sure for sure for sure? Haha!
It is always looked funny because the gas tank has a provision for a spare tire. I’m surprised they put that on the wagon also.
If this is true, then Aeromotive makes a stealth tank that will drop right in
